It seems if we are not
very alert in our life,
1 others are in search of
opportunity to exploit
us.
I am not dissatisfied
2
with my social life.
All persons meet and
3 talk to me with open
heart.
The people whom we
4 live with consider me
stranger and outsider.
It seems what we are
5 doing today are
meaningless for us.
This is wrong to say
6 that we are neglected in
society.
I am fully satisfied with
7
my present condition.
The society we live in
has been so much
8
disorganized that it
cannot be set right.
In today’s society
majority of people can
9
get happiness and
peace.
Whatever the people
may say, the common
10
man is in worse
condition.
Others are others; we
11 are meaningless even
for our own men.
In today’s set up I can

In home, society or
anywhere else, we are

not getting affection but
neglect.
The society has turned
its head against us so

happen to us tomorrow.
It is difficult to

BRIEF COPE
Carver, Scheier, and Weintraub (1989)

These items deal with ways you've been coping with the stress in your life. There are many
ways to try to deal with problems. These items ask what you've been doing to cope with this one.
Obviously, different people deal with things in different ways, but I'm interested in how you've tried
to deal with it. Each item says something about a particular way of coping. I want to know to what
extent you've been doing what the item says. How much or how frequently? Don't answer on the
basis of whether it seems to be working or not—just whether or not you're doing it. Use these
response choices. Try to rate each item separately in your mind from the others. Make your answers
as true FOR YOU as you can.
