CHAPTER V

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

In this chapter, the researchers presents their insights and interpretation based on the

outcome produced. The following discusses the major findings, the conclusions drawn and

recommendations made to include in our study.

SUMMARY OF THE FINDINGS (DISCUSSION)

The following discussion are the questions provided on the Statement of the Problem

facet of our research. Stated here are the questions answered by the responses, findings, and

results of our research.

1. Demographic profile of the respondents

With regard to the result, it stated that most of the repondents of this research are mostly

female, aging 41-50 years old. It only implies that female ages 41-50 are more spritually active

than men based on the study conducted. Most of the respondents, when it comes to educational

attainment, attained college level with almost half of the number of the respondents having 49%

of the total participants. Majority of the respondents are Catholic with exactly 86% of the total

participants. 67% of the total respondents are stated as married which only implores that most of

the spiritually and successfully aged individuals are married catholic. When it comes to work

status, 52% stated that they are working or they have an occupation, not that far from the 48%

who stated that they are not working or they dont have any occupation. And 63% of all the
repondents stated that they dont have any cardiac related illness which makes their faith purely

on spirituality aspect and sucessfull aging aspect only.

2. What is the level of spirituality among older adults living in LingunanValenzuela

City?

Based on the results produced by this study, it states that the composite mean of

spirituality among older individuals in Lingunan Valenzuela City was 5.11, implying an

affirmative response or agree result. Highighting the questions where most of the respondents

stated that they believe in the diversity of people and should respect it as well as that nature

should be respected too. It only means that most of the old adult respondents are spiritually

active and have a high level of spirituality when it comes to the spritual aspect in the city of

Valenzuela, specifically in baranggay Lingunan.

3. What is the level of successful aging process among older adults living in Lingunan

Valenzuela City?
 4. Is there a significant difference between spirituality and the successful aging of older

adults living in Lingunan Valenzuela City?

Based on the results produced by this study, it states that there is a significant difference

between the facet of sprituality and the aspect of successful aging of older adults living in

Baranggay Lingunan in Valenzuela City. As shown in the tabular presentation in Chapter 4 of

the research study, it shows that only in the aspect of Ethnicity or Ethinic Identity is where

significance is present, other aspect shows that there are no significance at all. It means that

difference is far more greater than similaraties when it comes to spirituality and successful aging

process. For that reason, the null hypothesis will be rejected and the alternative hypothesis will

be accepted. Therefore as per the results produced by this research study, it states that there is

significant difference between the facet of sprituality and the aspect of successful aging of older

adults living in Baranggay Lingunan in Valenzuela City.

5. Is there a significant relationship between spirituality and the successful aging of

older adults living in Lingunan Valenzuela City?

Based on the results produced by this study, it states that there are no significant

relationships between the facet of sprituality and the aspect of successful aging of older adults

living in Baranggay Lingunan in Valenzuela City. As shown in the tabular presentation in

Chapter 4 of the research study, it shows that the aspects of spiritually active, free of disabilities

and illnesses, mentally stable of healthy, and active lifestyle and physically fit shows no

significance at all. For that reason, the null hypothesis will be accepted and the alternative

hypothesis will be rejected. Therefore as per the results produced by this research study, it states
that there are no significant relationships between the facet of sprituality and the aspect of

successful aging of older adults living in Baranggay Lingunan in Valenzuela City.

CONCLUSION

As stated and revealed by the results and discussion of this research study, it shows that

spirituality and the successful aging process do not have any significant relationship at all.

People tend to have a higher level when it comes to spirituality, but it doesn’t mean that their

successful aging process is at a higher level as well. The same goes for having a higher level of

the successful aging process does not necessarily means that one individual also had a higher

level of spirituality. The result also showed that there are significant differences when it comes to

the two variables, meaning that differences is far greater than similiraties. We therefore conclude

that there is a significant difference between the aspect of spirituality and successful aging

process, that is why they also don’t have significant relationship at all.

RECOMMENDATIONS

 Always maintain having a positive outlook to life as well as to your way of living.

 It is a must to have a high level of spirituality for it strengthen not only our soul, but our

mind and body as well.

 Keep living a healthy and positive lifestyle.

 Always practice things that brings positive outcomes to your mind and body.

 Spirituality and successful aging process might not be related, but they’re essential to life.
