The Friends of Moldova is seeking applications for small grants to local nonprofits, initiative
groups, and aspiring social entrepreneurs that benefit the Moldovan community. The grant
request can be for direct funding or for material support (technology, equipment, or educational
materials). Projects involving youth and young adults will be prioritized, however, any
organization that will benefit the community will be taken into consideration.
BUDGET
We welcome project proposals with budgets of $5,000 OR $7,500. Only one proposal may be
submitted. One organization may only submit one project with one of the two budget options.
**Applying for a grant for $5,000 and $7,500 will be cause for disqualification or
penalization in the grant selection process.**
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for a grant you must fall into at least one of the following categories
● Moldovan citizens (youth and young adults encouraged)
● Moldovan initiative groups, startups, small businesses, or social entrepreneurships
● Organizations registered as non-profit NGOs and operating in Moldova;
● Peace Corps Volunteers through the Peace Corps Partnership Program.
● European Volunteer Services and other international volunteering groups.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Applicants must be aware that the Friends of Moldova will accept applications from 16 January
2023 until 23:59 US Eastern Time on 10 February 2023.

Application Procedure
Applications are selected on a rolling basis. Please check the website for upcoming deadlines.
Special interest projects can be considered at any time. Applicants must send the completed
Project Proposal and Project Budget forms. Download these application documents to fill
out and submit them via google drive links via the submission form.
General Requirements:

1. Name of organization
2. Proof of Tax ID and status (if applicable)
3. Title of the project
4. Primary phone number, email, and mailing address of the organization
5. Organization Website (if applicable)
6. Facebook Page (if applicable)
7. Date of the Application
8. Names, titles, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers of the responsible officer, the
alternate responsible officers of the organization, and the accountant (if applicable)

Identification of Personnel, References, and Current Resources:
Not to exceed two pages and must include, but is not limited to:
1. A brief statement on where the organization is located (the area where the organization
acts) and member’s nationalities.
2. Identify any volunteers and their roles in the organization.
3. Identify any partners and potential partners and their roles in the organization.
4. Provide 3 local community references that are willing to be contacted about your ability
to carry out this project.
5. Identify any past or current funding in regards to this specific project and from whom.
6. Identify any connections with The Friends of Moldova or Peace Corps Volunteer who is
or has been in contact with your organization and to what capacity.
7. Identify organizations in the area with similar goals, addressing the risk of competition or
potential collaboration. Provide contact information for these groups.
Executive Summary:
Not to exceed one page must include, but is not limited to:
Proposal:
A thorough explanation of the proposed program, not to exceed three pages, must include, but
is not limited to:
1. Budget Summary: Develop a budget, detail specific anticipated expenses, and whether
these expenses will require continuous funding or the potential for self-sustainment and
how. Additionally, complete the provided excel sheet.

2. Implementation Plan: A timeline detailing anticipated dates of completion of the key
activities, specifically what will be done, how it will get done, and when it will get done.
Describe how the organization is preparing for the project and what activities are
currently underway.
3. Sustainability: Elaborate on the ability for your project to provide a long term sustained
positive impact on the targeted community. Specifically, how will the organization
continue to positively impact the targeted community after the grant funding is used
4. Evaluation of Impact: Describe how you will evaluate your impact on the community,
specifically how the organization will track and measure the success of the activities.
5. Risks & Mitigation: Identify risks and the levels of potential occurrence (low, median,
high) during any phases of the project. How does the organization plan to reduce and
resolve any potential risks.
Finalists:
● Finalists and Applicants will be notified via email once the Grants Committee has
selected the eligible projects.
● The method for transferring money will be mutually agreed upon once the organization
and its project have been chosen for funding.
