Below is a summary of your Download PDF

responses

Welcome to Stage 1.

Using this external tool, you're going to brainstorm and develop your project, before submitting your work
for peer assessment in the Problem Statement section.

Completing the entire section should take one hour to complete.

Navigate through the pages by answering the questions and clicking the arrow at the bottom of the
page. Because we've separated the project proposal into a series of short questions, you won't need to
write an entire paragraph in one go. Keep to smaller, punchy sentences that you can build together
into a paragraph by the end of the Stage.

If you accidentally click away from the course, the external tool will remember where you were in the
survey if you come back to it - so don't worry!

If you navigate to the end of the questions and exit without saving, please contact us by sending a
message through Coursera. If this occurs, please allow at least 5-7 working days for us to get back to
you.

With that said, it is important to save your work at regular intervals as you progress through each
stage by copying and pasting your answers into a separate document for editing and submission
in Coursera.

Please note that to complete certain sections, you'll need to use the Brainstorming resources at the
bottom of Stage 1. If you get lost, you can always come back to the step-by-step guide held at the
bottom of Stage 1.

When you're ready, click the next arrow at the bottom of the page.

Stage 1. Identify a real-world problem to be solved

Let’s start by finding a community that matters to you (This task should take approx. 10 minutes)

The project you’re going to develop for this course is all about solving a problem. The problem your
project will focus on can't be too big or too small. So, we'll think of some problems in some communities
that you are familiar with. This means that the problem will be the right size and scope for your project. It
also means you will already have some ideas about the problem, its causes, and its effects.

First, think of a community.

It could be a group that you know or work with through your family, hobbies, interests, school, university,
or work. Other examples include professional communities (teachers), religious or cultural groups, or
nations. Because you'll spend some time developing your project, it needs to be something you're
interested in.

Write down your chosen community below. Afterward, tell us why you are interested in this
community.

Community 1. kjfdkjsfjfasklnfkelsfkenasfenan.
Community 2. msafjlafjerfheklafhekjasfhslek.
Community 3. jkrjlwjlrwgjrehwgkjlrwhekjghrewjkl.
Community 4. kjlwerjghrelgewjgknfnsnrkjwlgnw.
Community 5. jkrewgljkrhwjglrhjergrgjrkeglkjrlkwlg.

Clarify

Choose one of these communities to focus on in greater depth.

kjfdkjsfjfasklnfkelsfkenasfenan.

jkrjlwjlrwgjrehwgkjlrwhekjghrewjkl.
kjlwerjghrelgewjgknfnsnrkjwlgnw.
jkrewgljkrhwjglrhjergrgjrkeglkjrlkwlg.

Stage 1. Identify a real-world problem to be solved

It is important to reflect on the choices you take in the writing process.

Why are you interested in jkrjlwjlrwgjrehwgkjlrwhekjghrewjkl.?

Stage 1. Identify a real-world problem to be solved

What's next?

So far so good! The next step is to identify possible issues that affect the communities you chose. These
issues could be social, economic, technological, educational, environmental, or personal.

I'm a little stuck...

You'll find guides to these steps in the introductory videos held on the previous Coursera page. Please
watch these to make sure you know how to proceed.

If you get lost, you can always come back to the step-by-step guide held at the bottom of Stage 1.

Let's brainstorm...

At this point, you should use the brainstorming resources listed at the bottom of Stage 1. to think about
the issues that relate to your community.

Go to the Brainstorming resources page:

Choose a brainstorming resource:

Traditional brainstorm

Word Storm
Mind Map

Question Map

Use your chosen brainstorming resource to identify the issues that your community faces. You'll use this
process as inspiration to answer the following question!

Stage 1. Identify a real-world problem to be solved

Write

Identify three issues your chosen community faces (This task should take approx. 20 minutes)

Issue 1. gljkflwejglr.
Issue 2. dfhquwhlfke.

Stage 1. Identify a real-world problem to be solved

Clarify

Now let’s clarify your ideas and bring them together, because your project needs to have a clear focus.
This step is designed to help you prepare to research and read more effectively by predicting and
activating your prior knowledge. (This task should take approx. 30 minutes)
Stage 1. Identify a real-world problem to be solved

Clarify

You identified a real-world problem your community faces: gljkflwejglr.

This problem is interesting to you because: eafejh qewkjrheqw kqjrhelq jkqwrlhekjwq qkjwrlhewq

To unpack this statement, we'll need to discuss the cause and effect of your chosen real-world
problem.

Identify the cause of this real-world problem: why does the real-world problem exist in the first place?
In other words, what internal or external factors contribute to it?

Identify the effect this real-world problem has on your community: how does the real-world problem
affect different aspects of the community, e.g. people’s daily lives, people’s futures, the environment, the
perception of the community?

Stage 1. Identify a real-world problem to be solved

Great work!

To save your work, copy and paste your answers in a separate document for
editing and submission in Coursera.

You'll edit the separate document to become your problem statement, which you will submit for peer-
review in Coursera. After you edit it, it should look something like the step-by-step guide held at the
bottom of Stage 1.

Please note that after you click 'next,' you will be given a PDF copy of your answers which you will need
to save to submit in Coursera.

You chose the following community:

jkrjlwjlrwgjrehwgkjlrwhekjghrewjkl.

You identified three issues that community faces:

Completing Stage 1

To complete Stage 1, you will need to return to your separate document containing your work and edit it
for peer review.

Make sure to focus on:

Adapting it to fit the conventions of the examples in the step-by-step guide

Your references
Spelling and grammar
Language clarity, coherence & cohesion

Afterward, you'll post your work in the peer-review assignment in Coursera for Stage 1, as well as
review your peer's assignment, before moving onto Stage 2.
