 Cyber celebrity and internet celebrities economy have gained an expansion in popularity
thus becoming the major topic in China. According to China Daily, the market size of internet
celebrity economy has increased in size. “Wang Hong (网红)” is the Chinese name for internet

celebrities. These are people who are popular on Chinese social media and online platforms

mainly those who have the ability to earn real cash from their internet traffic. Internet celebrity
economy refers to the business chain of internet celebrities, that is, agents and incubators,
platforms and support teams, online marketing strategies and product selling methods. Internet
celebrities portray strong personalities on the social media and online community. They share
their way of living, encounters, and views on their platforms regularly, maintaining good
relationship with fans and lead them to stores, brands and other products. Fans then become
ready to go along with the recommendations as they feel internet celebrities are a
characterization of good products and friendly. Good number Internet celebrities are not
professionals. However, they have positive impacts and attain successful efficiency in particular
fields.  Dayi Zhang is a famous Chinese internet celebrity who is known as a model and
fashionista with five million followers on social media channels. In addition, Dayi Zhang
attended the Taobao live stream show in the Bachelordom Day 2016. Thus, guiding her fans to
the fashion shop and brands of Taobao which made 100 million sales on that day. According to
BBC news (Aug 2016), Zhang’s income has reached 46 million US dollars, which is the double
amount of the top Chinese actress Bingbing Fan.
