My name is Dian Prokopiev and I have had school in the IB program for 5 years.

Before that I
have studied in an international school in sweden for 3 years. I would like to apply for Meridian
22. I have good knowledge in english language, my last 5 years of school have been completely
in english.

I have always been better in math compared to the other subjects and right now im leaning
towards economics or computers. I have had a class similar to economics in sweden and
computer science. I also have business, economics and computer science in my current online
school appart from math and english. I have also had spanish and german as second
languages but it didnt go too far as the teacher werent very good and the german teacher even
got fired for missing most classes.

Outside of school I go to a coding course. It is held 3 hours every wednesday. I had to complete
a test with logical questions amongst others and the ones witht the highest scores got accepted.
There we have a choice to learn web development, game development or digital science. I
chose game development for this year and next year I will go with web development. In game
development we learn how to code games and are currently developing our own. A lot of people
would compare coding to math but it is closer to learning a second language than learning math
in my opinion. Most calculations that you have to do are addition, division or multiplication which
can also be done using a calculator if not in your head. You also have to use logic to figure out
how to make something happen or why it is happening at all.

I know about the IB program from my last 5 years of studying. My last 2 years I have been
studying in an online IB school. There I focused more into economics/nusiness and computer
science as we got to choose our subjects from a large variety. In sweden I studied in a physical
IB school. We studied math, science, english, PE and got to choose what second language to
study and between music, art or design. I chose design which is also connected to computers.
In one of the years we made a movie in groups and in the other we had to design new products
in 3d designing tools on a computer.

In the future I want to either work something connected with economics like maybe a manager
in a store or to code programs and games. I want to get into an economics university or
computer science university. IB offers great diplomas that universities like and are more likely to
accept than others.
