MANIFESTO

I am Andrew Okikioluwa Peace from Kogi state, A 200-level student from the
department of Marine Engineering, College of Engineering and Technology
aspiring for the position of Director of Transportation.

I believe that transportation is a key in the development of any nation, as it is

actually what brings life to an area because if any area is accessed, there is no
way that development can go into such an area which will cause the value of
properties within that area to depreciate.

Over time I have observed some little challenges in the transportation of the
school which ought not to be, such challenges like;
• No zebra lines to indicate a passage
• Inadequate provision of walkways
• Commercial riders without the Fupre vest have access to the school
environment which is not favorable for the security of the students
• Lack of speed bumps
• Outrageous transportation fares from close by environments to the school
• Inadequate maintenance of the school buses, which results in delayed
journeys during field trips, representational outings relating to academics,
sports, and the likes
• and a lot more
I do believe being a student is hard enough with the likes of sapa, imprompt
report submission and assignments, having to read for exams, and so on. It
therefore should not be more complicated by the aforementioned terms.
If elected into this position as the director of transport I will do the following;
1. Ensure the proper safety of students by;
• Addition of speed bumps and zebra lines crossing the roads
• Over time you might have observed some of the school vehicles are not
properly maintained, giving issues of breaking down during a long
distance journey, a broken window which could injure the students during
a journey, a faulty door which only the driver knows how to operate,
which is not a favorable condition in times of emergency
• Created a new transport route for our students who would prefer working
from one lecture hall to the other than boarding a bike, that way they
won’t have to work in bushy areas prone to snake and other insect bites
and reactions for their safety.
• All commercial riders coming into our great institute must be registered
with the fupre vest, this would help me in knowing our riders and regulate
the price of transportation from the nearby environments around the
school such as Ugbomoro and Iterigbe to nothing more than 100 naira per
drop to school. It would also ensure the security of our students,
especially during late hours of movement.
• Ensure the transport vehicles of the school undergo monthly maintenance,
that way, we would be able to reduce issues such as having just one bus
go to and fro a long distance to transport a whole department for three
days for a field trip, having those who arrived late to miss out on the
lectures and adventures they paid for, we would be able to have our
sportsmen going out to represent the school has adequate buses for a
comfortable movement, which would give them body pains a day to their
competition making them lose their games, we would have adequate
comfortable buses for excursions and other school movements such as
external events when invited.
• All this would be solved, for the safety and comfortability of the students
of this great institute is paramount to me. As I initially stated being a
student is stressful enough and I would ensure to use my position to make
it as comfortable as possible and help you save your money preparing for
rainy days.
2. Organized driving skill acquisition program for interested students with a
50 percent off subsidy
3. Work together with other appointed executives of the student union to
ensure any case of harassment between students and rude drivers is
treated urgently
At this stage I will say is a big dream but I can't do it alone as it will require you
to vote for me. Please vote for ANDREW OKIKIOLUWA PEACE for Director
of Transport, tomorrow Friday because is only your vote that will make the
difference we need. Thank You.
