WRITING A REPORT: CORRELATIONS


- Correlations can often show an indirect causal link or show economic or other
activities where there is no causal link or where the cause is separate.
- Correlation can indicate trends and suggest future actions.
4.1. Vocabulary and Usage
- 2 grammatical forms can be used:
+ The superlatives of quantity: The greatest number, the lowest incidence/occurrence
+ The comparative form: the greater.../ the greater...
4. 2. Structure.
- Introduction:
+ State what figure 1 and 2 show
+ State the correlation between the two figures
- Body (2-3 paragraphs):
+ Describe the overall relationship between figures 1 and 2
+ Give a more detailed description of the trend
- Conclusion:
+ Rephrase the relationship between the two figures
