Film production BA(Hons) at UCA, I believe to be the right course because most

of the work is practice based which fuelled my interest because I enjoyed

practice based work during my AS and A levels in media studies bringing

projects to life. I am excited to be able to work with professional cameras,

improving my skills throughout the full process of a lm project. The opportunity

to be able to do a practice year and be exposed to di erent working

environments. With the help of my advisor I was able to nd and research the

course.

The Film Production course encourages the development of specialist areas of interest.

Please number the three areas that interest you the most from 1-3 (1=most interested).

Please write a maximum of 100 words about your experience of working in groups and identify your strengths
and weaknesses as a group member.

In my AS Level I worked on a lm opening project which I enjoyed because I was able to

have a discussion of ideas with my group which made our story much more interesting. I
learned how to compromise with others for the bene t of a project. My strengths are that I
am able to be a leader but who can demonstrate understanding of others and how we all
work di erently. However, I encountered a weakness which is that sometimes I put too
much pressure on myself, taking everyones workload.

Please tell us about one documentary or fiction film that you have seen recently which has interested you
(maximum 100 words).

Wildcat has recently captured my interest as I myself love traveling and

learning other cultures which is why I really enjoyed Wildcat on PrimeVideo
because it is a story about a young veteran who gets involved with wildlife
rescue and rehabilitation. We see his relationship with a baby ocelot but it
becomes more than just rescuing it and gives him a second chance to heal.
We see not only his journey but the animal's journey which was truly amazing
because I learned how important it is to protect these animals and the danger
they face in the wild from humans.

Please tell us about one book you have read, exhibition you have visited or theatre production you have seen
recently (maximum 100 words).

The Song of Achilles, which is about Achilles but written from the perspective of
Patroclus. We get to see the life of Achilles from a di erent perspective. We all
know the story of Achilles but what really interested me was what drove
Achilles mad was love for Patroclus. We see how Achilles is trying to satisfy his
mother and live up to her ideal which cost him love because he refused to put
his pride aside when Patroclus asked for his help causing Patroclus to die. This
breaks Achilles causing him to go mad because he has lost his lover.

Please answer the following two questions about the work in your portfolio:

1) What audience was this made for? (maximum 100 words).

My work project Voyeur was made for people from the age of 15 to 30+, such as
thriller lovers and horror lovers who are looking for something with tension but which
does not include the gory parts. But my project Another Day was mainly made for
teenagers because it focuses on a teenage girl and her fears. They both can be
watched by a wider audience ranging from young children starting from the age of 10
because there are no graphic scenes and are easy to understand.

2) How would you improve this piece of work if you made it again? (maximum 100 words).

If I was to do these projects again I would add dialogue to them. I have noticed
how much harder it is for the audience to understand the characters because
they are not able to know what the characters are thinking and why certain
choices were made by them. I would also add clearer shots, in order for the
audience to understand the ow of the short lm, to provide continuity as I
noticed there were shots which were a little hard to follow.
