Dear Ms Staines

Thank you for coming to see me on 7 November when we discussed the compensation for damages due to
non-compliance with the clauses of the contract with Burnett TV Supplies. I am writing to summarise our
discussion and to confirm your instructuions.

You told me that Burnett TV Supplies sold your company Berlingua Language School a new satellite system
(including built-in hard drive) at 50% of the normal price for educational use. You have said, that your
company would mainly use it to record foreign-language TV programmes for use during lessons. Few
moments later, in use you have realised that the timer function is broken. After asking Simon Burnett for
replacement, his company refused to do it.

The legal issue here is that defect not pointed out at time of purchase. Based on Sale of Goods Act if price of
good is reduct due to imperfections, seller must inform client.

Recent case law shows that you have two options: You are entitled to either a full refund or a replacement
system (your choice). I have outlined the options, so you have time to consider and choose the option that
suits you best. I'm pretty sure it will only take one letter from us before Burnett gives up - he doesn't stand a
chance in small claims court!

I will write a letter to Burnett TV Supplies Facts stating the above and informing them of your intention to
appeal their inaction. I am seeking confirmation from Burnett that they accept our interpretation of both the
events and the applicable law, and that their compensation will not result in any unnecessary litigation on
their part. I will definitely contact you again soon. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

With kind regards

Pyliuchenko Mariia
