BRAND NAME: WALLMART

In 2008 the logo transitioned to lowercase letters
followed by a yellow sunburst, which is
called “the spark.” This logo was the
result of Walmart’s rebranding to
appeal to an audience that comes
from a higher income bracket. This
latest iteration is softer, friendlier, and warmer and Linda
Blakley, the spokeswoman for the Bentonville, Arkansas chain
said that the sunburst addition embodies their company’s mission of
“innovation, inspiration, and people working hard to bring prices down.”

DESIGN NARRATIVE:
Walmart iterative design process resulted in a simpler, more contemporary environment for
greenfield stores and an airport & product spotlight inspirational design system that can be
rolled-out to existing stores.
In exterior, as the first interface with both customers and non-
customers, the exteriors were given the attention they deserve.
The facade clearly calls out the promise.. to save money but
also, to live better. The entrance is clearly identified with a
welcoming warm arch in yellow and special attention is given
to specific parking zones.
In interiors, by lowering the height of many fixtures and creating a hierarchy for signage, we
were able to create a total signage system that allows customers to see where every
department is placed and what is found in each department. Floors are also polished
concrete made in recycled materials and It also reduces maintenance and stains.
