2022 Philippine presidential election causes trouble for Filipino artist.

Art commissions for Filipino artists are being canceled by the commissioners after the 2022
Philippines presidential elections. Filipino artists are being punished for their race due of the
winner of the Philippine 2022 presidential elections, Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The winner of the election Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. also referred as “Bongbong
Marcos” the presumptive president-elect of the Philippines, is the son of Ferdinand Emmanuel
Edralin Marcos Sr. a former president of the Philippines. The man is infamous for becoming a
dictator of the Philippines, robbing people of millions and imposed laws that violated human
rights.

“I wasn't really that affected because I recently just opened my commissions, after those
screenshots of Filipino artists getting their commissions canceled because of the election. I was
quite a bit shocked because I don't even know the reasoning as to why they would cancel”

The election undoubtably affected the reputation the Philippines, with Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
winning the vote tally. Filipinos are being labeled as fascist and ignorant due to Ferdinand
Marcos Jr. family reputation.

“I thought that maybe that could happen to me and I was a bit panicky because commissions
are the only for me to earn money as of now. I help my parents out by giving them my
commission money and just overall trying to help them with whatever I can, and seeing the
news about commissions being cancelled affected me because I don't know where I'll earn
money. Thankfully everyone was pretty supportive in the end towards Filipino artists so I'm
quite thankful for that.”

Not all believe that Filipinos support the ideology of Ferdinand Marcos Sr. but those who do
affect the work lives of Filipinos who rely on overseas consumers.
The influence of the election does not limit within the Philippines, the election has become
infamous worldwide for the many unwarranted things that happened during the event. Those
who rely on overseas income may experience trouble with overseas customers, due to the
stereotypes made by the election.
