The Story of Ruth

1. Who stayed with Naomi to returned to Bethlehem-Judah?

- Ruth the Moabitess

2. Who is Boaz? And how does Boaz became a kinsman-redeemer?

- Boaz became the guardian-redeemer for Naomi's family, and he was needed to fix two problems: a
parcel of land had to be bought back (redeemed), and Ruth needed a husband. Boaz had to do some
clever bargaining to redeem the land and marry Ruth, but he was successful, and the story of Ruth
ended happily.

3. What does the book of Ruth contains?

- The book was written from Naomi's point of view. Every event related back to her: her husband's and
sons' deaths, her daughters-in-law, her return to Bethlehem, her God, her relative, Boaz, her land to sell,
and her progeny.

The Birth of Jesus

1. Why does the baby called “Jesus”? What is the name “Jesus” means?

- The name Jesus is connected to the Hebrew word for salvation (yasha). In fact, when the angel gives
the reason for naming him Jesus, it appears to be a wordplay on Jesus' name.

2. What is the reason why King Herod wanted to kill all the baby boys ages 2 below?

- Herod had planned to make the Magi tell him of the whereabouts of the Christ child. When he heard of
the Magi's change in course, he grew angry and tried to kill the infant messiah by killing all the young
children in the area, an event known as the Massacre of the Innocents.

3. In what way the angel of the Lord has told Joseph on where they should go and what they should do?

- One night an angel came to Joseph in a dream and told him that Mary's baby was the Son of God. The
angel told Joseph to marry Mary and to name her baby Jesus. Jesus was to be the Savior of the world.

The Prodigal Son

1. What is the main message in the Parable of the Prodigal Son?

- The story of the prodigal son is a picture of God's love for us as His children. God's love for us does not
depend on our faithfulness; it is unconditional.
2. What was the father’s message to the older son?

- His father urges him not to resent his brother, but to instead be happy for him

3. Describe the qualities you want that portraying a good father. Are these the same qualities you find in

God as Father?
