Tolteq Symmetric Propagation Resistivity tool

First successful runs of the SPR

tool with the Tolteq iSeries • Location: Navasota, Texas
MWD platform • Mud type: WBM
• Flow rate: 500-600 GPM
Technology and Run History
Our symmetric propagation resisitivity (SPR) LWD tool performed Memory Mode Log
three successful runs partnered with our Tolteq™ iSeries™ MWD
tool at NOV’s Technology Center in Navasota, Texas – a full scale
rig which replicates today’s demanding drilling conditions.

Two runs were drilled in memory mode, using the iSeries SPR
interface to provide power from an iSeries battery module. On
the third run, the iSeries SPR interface was used to connect the
SPR to an iSeries MWD tool with our Tolteq top mount pulser
(TMP). Power was provided to the SPR from the MWD, and real-
time resistivity measurements were sent to the MWD for
transmission to surface.
