The vital breath of prudent Education Ang Dunong ay isang mabisang biyaya,
Instills a virtue of enchanting power; Buhay ng pag-asa na kahanga-hanga;
She lifts the motherland to highest station Siyang nagtatampok sa sariling lupa nang kasilaw-silaw
And endless dazzling glories on her shower. Sa tuktok ng walang hangang pagdakila;
And as the zephyr's gentle exhalation Sa halik-amihan
Revives the matrix of the fragrant flower, Ang mga bulaklak ay nananariwa;
So education multiplies her gifts of grace; Sa halik ng dunong nama’y nagdiriwa
With prudent hand imparts them to the human race. Ang patay mang loob at isip mulala.
And as the spring doth sustenance bestow Tulad sa biyaya ng saganang batis
On all the plants, on bushes in the mead, Na sa halamana’t pananim sa bukid
Its placid plenty goes to overflow Mabining nanalong at nakadidilig
And endlessly with lavish love to feed Saka walang sawa
The banks by which it wanders, gliding slow, Sa kinaaagos sa pampang at gilid,
Supplying beauteous nature's every need; Anupa’t sa lupa
So he who prudent Education doth procure Ay walang muntik mang ipinagkakait;
The towering heights of honor will secure. Ganyan din and dunong at ningning ng isip,
Kalat ng liwayway hangang himpapawid
From out his lips the water, crystal pure, Nunukal sa labi’y tubig na busilak
Of perfect virtue shall not cease to go. Bulalakaw mandin na sa langit buhat,
With careful doctrines of his faith made sure, Ang matatalinong aral at panulat
The powers of evil he will overthrow, Na dulot ng dunong
Like foaming waves that never long endure, Sa buhay ng sama’y siyang umuutas,
But perish on the shore at every blow; Kagaya ng along
And from his good example other men shall learn Sa mga pampangi’y nawawala’t sukat,
Their upward steps toward the heavenly paths to turn. At ang taong diya’y nakapagmamalas
May natutuhang matuwid na landas.
And as the mighty rock aloft may tower Katulad ng isang burol na mataas
Above the center of the stormy deep Na kahit iluwa ng along malakas,
In scorn of storm, or fierce Sou'wester's power, At kung salakayin ng bagyong habagat
Or fury of the waves that raging seep, Pinapalibhasa
Until, their first mad hatred spent, they cower, Pati ng daluyong at poot ng dagat
And, tired at last, subside and fall asleep, -- Hangang sa magsagwang
So he that takes wise Education by the hand, Ito ang umurong, sumuko’t maglubag;
Invincible shall guide the reigns of motherland. Ganyan din ang dunong, sa wastong maghawak,
Timbulan ng bayang napapawakawak.
