FOR LAYOUT ARTIST:

1. Make a layout of Newsletters with 4-pages blank layout.


2. Set-up the Page by clicking the PAGE DESIGN, Select Page Setup wait until the Page
Setup Dialog Box will appear, Set the Target Paper size to A4 (8.268” x 11.693”) Margin
Guides Top, Left, Bottom & Right to 0.25 inches or 0.635 cm.
Note: For Easy and Fastest Layout, Insert only 1 blank page for News Page then after the
1 Whole Page Layout with shapes for picture and textbox for articles, Right Click the
Page then select Insert Duplicate Page for easy copy/paste and moving of formatted
size for shapes and textbox.
Size for: NAMEPLATE - 2.01 x 7.77 inches or 5.1054 x 19.7358 cm
LOGO - 1.5 x 1.5 inches or 3.83 x 3.81 cm
HIGHLIGHTED PHOTO PER PAGE - 0.9 x 1.5 inches or 2.286 x 3.81 cm
LARGE PHOTO - 2.51 x 5.09 inches or 6.3754 x 12.9286 cm
SMALL PHOTO - 1.5 x 2.49 inches or 3.81 x 6.3246 cm
3. Set-up the Guides by clicking the PAGE DESIGN, Select Guides, Choose 3 x 3 Grid Ruler
Guide
4. Follow the 4-Pages Guide Layout for Desktop Publication
4.1. News Page
4.2. Editorial Page
4.3. Feature Page
4.4. Sports Page
5. Save your 4 Pages Blank Layout Newsletter with Filename BLANK 4 PAGES LAYOUT
Copy and paste it 4 times, Edit the Filename for NEWS PAGE, EDITORIAL PAGE, FEATURE
PAGE & SPORTS PAGE. Delete the Page which are not included in each Filename.
Put it in 1 FOLDER with the Assigned Code: For Example for English CDPEE-01, for Filipino
CDPEF-01
6. Transmit the FOLDER of your BLANK LAYOUT to each Writer

RIMINDER:
All the Writers, Photo Journalists & Cartoonists will stay at the Press Conference Area to
listen and take note the contents of the Press Conference for the topics and articles to
be written.
The Layout Artist will proceed to the Contest Venue to Layout the Blank 4 Pages
Newsletters while the Press Conference is ongoing.
The assigned writer of each page will make a draft of the articles, then submit to the
assigned editor per page for fastest and on-time submission of your OUTPUT…
You have only:
30 minutes for Layout,
120 minutes for 3 Articles/Write-ups,
70 minutes for Grammar Editing/Proofreading
20 minutes for Printing
(Write 3 sentences per paragraph for News, Editorial, Feature & Sports)
Headline must be brief, concise and attractive
Sub-Headline must support the details of your Headline
