Radio Drama
 Radio drama (or audio drama, audio play, radio play, radio theatre, or audio theatre) is
a dramatized, purely acoustic performance. With no visual component, radio drama
depends on dialogue, music and sound effects to help the listener imagine the
characters and story: "It is auditory in the physical dimension but equally powerful as a
visual force in the psychological dimension." Radio drama includes plays specifically
written for radio, docudrama, dramatized works of fiction, as well as plays originally
written for the theatre, including musical theatre, and opera.
 Example of Radio Drama:-
[Prologue]

[All Carolers disappointed]
Caroler 2- we’re not even halfaway to our 1500-pesos-goal for the Christmas party we’re

Caroler 2- Are you serious?
Harry- Of course! Occupants of huge mansions like these are very generous. Isn’t it? Stephanie.
Stephanie- I’ve got goose bumps though I’m still seeing it from afar. Wooh! Even the wind
conspires with its scary appearance. It chills!
Harry- Hello! There’s nothing scary when you know we need to have 1500 pesos! This is money

her look screams “You’re last breathe is mine” Eyyy
Harry- Just like I said. Come on guys.
Caroler 2- Harry, are you serious? Dona Amalia looks like she wants to eat us.
Dona Amalia- Come, come. You don’t want to be frozen statues outside, do you?

Radio Music Program
 Music radio is a radio format in which music is the main broadcast content. After
television replaced old time radio's dramatic content, music formats became dominant in
many countries. Radio drama and comedy continue, often on public radio.

 Music drives radio technology, including wide-band FM, modern digital radio systems
such as Digital Radio Mondiale, and even the rise of internet radio and music streaming
services (such as Pandora and Spotify). When radio was the main form of
entertainment, regular programming, mostly stories and variety shows, was the norm. If
there was music, it was normally a live concert or part of a variety show. Backstage
sound engineers who jockeyed discs (records) from one turntable to another to keep up
with the live programming were often called disc jockeys. With the mass production and
popularity of records in the mid 1940s, as well as the birth of TV, it was discovered that a
show was needed to simply play records and hire a disc jockey to host the program. One
of the first disc jockeys (later called DJs) was Dick Clark. Others followed suit and today
music radio is the most numerous format.
