History that influences current business activities

Since the 1600s, when Americans first began exchanging goods, services, and
agricultural products, small businesses have grown. At that time, every firm was little
because the country was still emerging. Automation wasn't commonplace, and machines
weren't yet accessible. Banks had not yet been created, and transportation was incredibly
slow. In America, the foundation for such things, including taxes, was still being
established. After the country gained independence in the 1800s, small companies really
started to take off. As the economy expanded, so did the monetary system. More and
more people started to express interest in what was being offered as firms popped up and
offered an expanding number and range of products.
The first American businesses were created in the 1790s and quickly rose to
prominence in the economy of the fledgling country. Even while there were businesses in
early 19th-century Europe, especially in Great Britain and the Netherlands, no nation
adopted corporate growth as quickly as the United States. In the initial years following
the American Revolution, there were small financial organizations. The Boston
Manufacturing Co., which was founded in 1813, was the first significant industrial
corporation, according to the majority of historians. It adopted its business model from
Britain, where textile companies contributed to the first Industrial Revolution some thirty
years earlier.  Small enterprises expanded alongside America's growth. America was able
to demonstrate its stability in the 1970s and 1980s because to the growth of small
enterprises. Small enterprises accepted the challenge, however many of the major
organizations at the time were unable to compete effectively against the burgeoning
overseas competition. People in the 1980s displayed a significant interest in
entrepreneurship as a result of small enterprises starting to do so well, which led to the
growth of start-up businesses. At that point, Silicon Valley in California rose to
prominence as the start-up capital of the globe. It became quite fashionable to use venture
capital financing, and many people who had ideas sought to convert them into successful
businesses. Hundreds of schools across the nation have fostered Americans’ desire to
start their own businesses and have since dedicated majors to entrepreneurship and small
business ownership. One simply cannot ignore the effect that small businesses have had
on America: After all, every major corporation in the country today had to start small.

Education system and literacy rates
American students spend a total of 12 years in primary and secondary school before
moving on to higher education. The first through twelfth grades correspond to these
years.  Children in the United States start primary school, also known as "elementary
school," around the age of six. After five or six years, they move on to secondary school.
A diploma or certificate is given upon graduation from high school. Secondary school is
divided into two programs: middle school, also known as junior high school, and high
school. U.S. students may continue on to college or a university after completing high
school (12th grade). Higher education refers to academic pursuits at colleges or
universities.
Typically, the academic year starts in August or September and lasts until May or
June. It is a good idea for international students to start their U.S. university studies in the
fall since this is when the majority of new students enroll. As everyone gets used to a new
stage of academic life, there is a lot of excitement at the start of the school year, and
students develop many wonderful friendships during this time. Additionally, a lot of
courses are made such that students can take them in order, beginning in the fall and
continuing throughout the year.
Nationwide, on average, 79% of U.S. adults are literate in 2022. 21% of adults in
the US are illiterate in 2022. 54% of adults have a literacy below sixth-grade level. 21%
of Americans 18 and older are illiterate in 2022.
