I'll begin my response to this question by expressing how excited I am to be in this class. I have
gained a lot of knowledge, and I have high hopes for my future at the University of the People.

As usual, I double-checked my grade for the previous week's discussion assignment as well as

my Learning Journal. I study my already download textbook in regards to the weeks activities. I

also watch some videos to understand the concept of every activity for the week, I always make

it a priority to write the discussion post first, after which the, Programming assignment, then, the

Self-Quiz, and if there are Graded Quiz. Finally, the Learning Journal because it has one day

more than rest of the assignments.

My grade on last week’s Learning Journal really made me SAD, when I was awarded 0 credit for
a 94% commonality. This led to my 95.00/100.00 on the Graded Quiz.

I'm always thankful to my friends for their contributions to the Discussion Forum. Each student
in the discussion forums responds differently to the weekly discussion assignments. While some
students explain questions thoroughly, the majority of students respond professionally with brief
responses.

I realize how good I will turn in the future, considering what we are learning in both Written, and

discussion assignments, it is actually a tremendous skill I am learning, and polishing this

education I'm receiving at the university will unquestionably propel me to the pinnacle of my

life.

Below are two reasons why networks might use Error-Correcting Codes instead of Error

Detection and Retransmission are as follow,

Error detection is the process of identifying mistakes made during transmission from the

transmitter to the receiver that were brought on by noise or other interference. Error correction is

the detection of errors and the error-free restoration of original data. There are two methods for

correcting errors: backward error correction and forward error correction.

 With backward error correction, the receiver detects an error in the received data and

instructs the sender to resend the data unit.

 Forward Error Correction occurs when the receiver detects an error in the received data,

it runs an error correction code that helps it fix and correct some types of errors

automatically.

Data transmission methods include sending data with an error correction code and error detection

and data transmission.

Two reasons why Error Correction Code has advantages over the other is listed below

Transmission efficiency is increased:

When we use a correction code, the entire channel bandwidth is used to transmit data in one

direction, which automatically increases the data transmission efficiency. However, if an error

detected, the bandwidth of the channel is cut in half, resulting in a loss of performance.

This is followed by fast data transmission:

if an error-filled frame is received, the receiver can regenerate the corrected frame using error

checking information. During error detection and retransmission, the receiver sends a request to

retransmit that specific frame, and then the sender resends that frame, which is a lengthy process.

Note: Error correction can be done in 2 ways: Once, although the error is determined such that

the transmitter is broadcasting over the entire data unit. In another case, however, the receiver

might benefit from correcting the error code while correcting positive errors automatically.
