Resolution 1: Relating to Extension of term of Office

Background/Context:

For over 20 years, WFTO used to have the Biennial Conferences during odd years
(like 2001, 2003... 2017 & 2019) while WFTO Asia used to have the Biennial
conference during even years like 2002, 2004... 2016, 2018 etc.).
As per Constitution & By-Laws both WFTO & WFTO Asia shall have Elections
during these In-person AGMs - during the Biennial Conferences, while their term
of office is for 4 years;

However, due to COVID pandemic, while the agreed Biennial Conference of WFTO
in 2021 was postponed and now proposed to be held during May 2022 @
Berlin/Germany while the planned Biennial Conference of WFTO Asia (in Chiang
Mai during Sept 2020) was cancelled and the virtual AGM was held during Nov
2020;

Now, while WFTO Asia has planned its virtual AGM on 19 th Nov 2021 and WFTO
has rescheduled the Biennial Conference to May 2022, for WFTO members in Asia
to participate in the WFTO Asia Conference even if it is planned during 2022
wherein the Election is due this year, but might be very difficult for members to
participate in both the conferences, because of finance and logistic reasons.

As such, the following resolution is proposed.

Resolution:

Resolved that this AGM extends the term of office for the current WFTO Asia
Board for one more year (from 2022 to 2023) on a Contingency basis due to
COVID, while WFTO rescheduling it’s Biennial Conference (from 2021 to 2022) and
WFTO Asia shall conduct the elections during the next In-person Biennial
Conference in the region, (to be held in 2023); and this resolution is to be ratified
in that In-person AGM (during the next Biennial Conference) of WFTO Asia.
