Imagery:
Product photography is a powerful component of our digital experience at Kohl’s. Clear, quality images
engage our customers and drive confidence levels when shopping on kohls.com. Since the customer will
be unable to see, touch, hold or smell the product prior to purchase, we need to find a way to help
showcase the details and benefits of each and every online product through imagery.

Great product photography focuses on the product, not the background, nor the props. We understand
that professional product photography can be a large investment and undertaking; however, we only
have a few seconds to make a good first impression. Submitting high-quality images to Kohl’s ensures
the quickest product launch for your company and will save in the number of samples required.

Imagery standards do vary across the industry. Please make sure you are photographing to Kohl’s
specifications. Actual product photography is required - renderings, color-filled or manipulated imagery
will be rejected and delay the product/assortment from going live on kohls.com. Test images are
required for all new vendors prior to uploading images for an entire assortment. Product imagery
intended for use on kohls.com should be uploaded via the Kohl’s Connection/Vendor Portal as soon as
possible to allow sufficient time for all business partners to prepare the product for the website.

Feel free to reach out to your Digital Item Production Team Lead with any additional questions regarding
timelines or product imagery.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why should we submit product photography?
If images are photographed according to our specifications submitting product photography may save
weeks of processing time expediting your products to the live site.

What size should our product images be?

Generally speaking, the larger the image the better it is to work with. Our minimum product image size
is 1500 pixels by 1500 pixels at a resolution of 300 pixels per inch. Please do not upsize images (making
a small image bigger) as this ruins the integrity of the image causing it to be blurry and pixelated.

How can I submit images?

Images can be uploaded directly to the Kohl’s Connection. Please reference the E-Com Image Upload
Process for step by step instructions.

How should we name our image files?

The image file name should follow this convention: Vendor Name_Kohl’s Department Number_and
Product Style Number (vendor supplied).

What color space should we use?

Each image should be in the sRGB color space.
