To our highly respected guests, Mr. John Christopher Laron, Miss Roxane Ducusin, and to other guests who attended, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon. I am here in front of you to talk about the Department of Tourism (DOT) Sector. First, the Department of Tourism is responsible for the country’s development in the tourism industry. Its goal is to promote growth and increase opportunities in tourism, contributing to job generation and poverty alleviation in rural areas. Over the years, the Philippines has earned a negative and unfair reputation in the international tourism community for being poor and precarious. Pollution in the area is also a concern. These problems are not unique to the Philippines. Tourism challenges include taxes, travel facilitation, safety, infrastructure and cross-border legislation. To solve our problems about Department of Tourism that they are facing, we can promote tourism throughout a variety of times, including off-season, in addition to the busiest times. Design entirely new travel plans and tourist destinations. Reexamine and enhance regulations, such as denying traffic access to some overcrowded areas. Attract travelers who are more responsible. It’s been a pleasure being with all of you this afternoon. Thank you for listening and I appreciate everyone’s presence. It has been an honor to be among such accomplished people and to be able to share my viewpoint with you all. Once again, thank you.
