well ladies and gentlemen,, god morning good evening good night…. Thankyou for the
opportunity that given to me, my name is Sahnaz Zafira iam from smp it akmala sabila
Cirebon. I Would like to tell you guys a story entitled the legend of situ bagendit.

Please listen to me carefully,,,, one upon a time in a small village in a west java lived a rich
woman . Her wealth was plentiful, but she very greedy, so people called her Bagenda Endit,
thats means a greedy wealthy woman.
“Iam happy with all my wealth, this jewelry is so shiny, the gold is so beauty, the house is so
big, my wealth is everything….I’ll not let anyone take it. No one richer than me, no one can
take all my wealth. No one can take a little rupiah from me. And all I care is only all my
wealth. No one can take, no one can take any of them”.

That was what she thought about. She didn’t care with  the people around her although they
were very poor and were starving.
One day, a very old woman came to her and asked for help.
She said, “ Bagenda Endit, please help me. My son has never had any food for days. we are
starving.”
“Heeee, the ugly old woman! Get away from me! I don’t care with you or your son. Even
youre dying, it is not my business, stay away from my wealth.” Bagenda Endit shouted.
The old woman didn’t move from Bagenda Endit sight so Bagenda Endit splashed the woman
with some water. Splash! And all over the old woman body and her baby became wet.
Baginda Endit was a feeling less woman. She didn’t even have a little bit mercy to the old
woman and her baby. She even got more angry. She forced the old woman to get out of  her
yard.
“hey! what such a foolish woman! Who are you? so that she comes to me for a help.”
Although Bagenda Endit was very miserly, the villagers kept coming in. They came for asked
the water wheel.
“Ha...ha...ha you are all stupid! You think you just can take the water from my wheel? No,
no, no no , go away, The water in the wheel is mine!” said Bagenda Endit
A few days later, a very old woman, with a stick to walk, came to Bagenda Endit and asked
for some water.
“Have mercy on me Bagenda Endit! please give me some water. I am so thirsty. If you don’t
mine I will take the water from your wheel.”
Asked the old man.“Hey, the poor old woman
No one can take any of them. Go, go, go, go away!” said Bagenda Endit.
With a hurt, the old man went by, she used his stick to walk. She stopped by the Bagenda
Endit’s house yard.
She put his stick and shouted, “Bagenda Endit, you don’t want to loose any drop of your
water. Now I will give you more water.”
She took his stick out of the ground. Suddenly the water came out, bursted into the air.
Continuously, the water kept coming out of the ground and flooding it all.
“What is this? Where does all this water came from? No! My treasure! My treasure will
drown! No!”
Nyai Bagendit cried for help. "Help me! Somebody please help me!"
But nobody listened her crying for help. Nobody in the village felt this amazingly, the fload
only happened in Nyai Bagendit's house. The land was opened. It was so big that the entire
Nyai Bagendit's house, and all her wealth were gone. The villagers just watches what
happened to Nyai Bagendit and her house. They were amazed. They knew that God punished
Nyai Bagendit for behaving badly and never helped other people. Slowly, the place where
Nyai Bagedit's house stood became lake. Since then, people named the lake as Situ Bagendit
It means Lake of Bagendit. Enough form me, thankyou for listening to me,
Wassalamualaikum wr wb 😊
