❖ It is from September to November
❖ The weather is cool and the temperature is comfortable for everyone.
❖ It is one of the most beautiful seasons in Japan.
❖ There are many parks in Tokyo where you can see autumn leaves. These leaves are
in the color yellow, orange and red which becomes the main attraction of the parks
during autumn along with maple leaves.
❖ The leaves fall in the rivers or lakes and a lake covered with dried leaves is said to be
the most relaxing view during the autumn.
Kyoto: The Most Recommended Destination During Autumn Season
● Located in the western part of the country, on Honshu Island.
● Temperature during autumn is perfect. (During summer, the temperature is too hot.
During winter, the temperature is too cold.)
● Famous activity done in Kyoto during the autumn season is the momijigari.
Momijigari
● Watching autumn leaves as their color turns from midori (green) to orenji (orange).
● It only lasts for a short period of time, about two weeks.
● It is the equivalent of Sakura-watching during the spring season.
● The changes in the autumn leaves' colors occur from north to south of the country,
while the blooming of Sakura occurs from south to north; both need accurate timing if
ever tourists would want to participate in these activities.
Autumn vs Spring: What Season is Better?
● It would be difficult to answer this question because autumn and spring offer different
vibes.
● In terms of temperature, their temperature does not differ that much.
● SPRING: everyone is high-spirited and excited; it is related to new beginnings such
as the beginning of a new school year for students. It offers fun energy.
● AUTUMN: calm and toned-down energy since half of the year has already passed. It
offers a relaxed and solemn feeling.
Festivals in Japan During the Autumn Season
1. Shishi-mai Matsuri
- A dance festival which is celebrated in Kanagawa every October. Everyone
dances and wears costumes like dog costumes or dragon costumes. During
this festival, everyone is outside celebrating.
2. Shibuya Halloween Festival
- One of the most popular festivals in the world.
3. Kuri Matsuri
- It is a festival that gives importance to chestnuts, which is the most popular
food in Japan. It is celebrated in Tokyo.
Foods to eat during the Autumn Season
1. Oden
- Hot Pot filled with different ingredients such as fishcakes and the likes. It can
be bought in convenience stores.
2. Yaki imo
- It is roasted sweet potato, Kamote in the Philippines but sweeter and bigger.
3. Ramen
- A famous delicacy in Japan and other countries. And Ichiran, a famous ramen
store in Japan, is the go-to for tourists.

- Available the whole year but is most delicious during cold seasons (autumn
and winter).

- A long, thin fish that translates to autumn swordfish. It is only available during

Tourist Spots in Japan During the Autumn Season
1. Nikko
- Place where there are Jinja Shrines (Shinto Shrines) and during autumn, the
leaves are especially orange and red here. It is also one of the most famous
tourist spots in Japan.
2. Kawaguchi Ko
- A beautiful lake in Yamanashi Prefecture, Fuji, Japan and is especially
beautiful during autumn.
3. Onsen (Hotspring)
- A famous place for Japanese people, especially workers, to destress.
4. Aoyama Gaien-mae
- A beautiful place to see momiji.
5. Fuji Q Highland
- An amusement park in Japan. It has the Guinness record for the steepest and
fastest roller coaster.
