There is a wide gap between the Ideal English Language Teaching situation and the Real-
Life actual situation in Pakistan. In your opinion, what are the four basic reasons for this
prevailing gap between teacher input and learners output? You may discuss with reference
to your observed educational system in Pakistan.

Answers:

As English is perceived as a passport to better employment and upward social mobility in


pakistan. There is a wide gap between the ideal English Language Teaching situation in pakistan.
In my opinion in pakistani educational system followings are the four basic reasons for
prevailing gap between teacher input and learner output.

. Lack of native interaction


. Enviroment difference of classroom and society
. Lack of interest
. Lack of resources available for students

1) Lack of native interaction:

This is one of the most basic reason of this prevailing gap between teacher input and learners
output in pakistani english language learning contaxt. As pakistani learners are not exposed to
native varieties of english therefore, it is very difficult for them to achieve native like
competence in english language.

2) Environment difference of classroom and society:

As we know that in pakistani context there is a great difference between home and classroom
environment. This is a big reason for this prevailing gap between input and output. In pakistani
context learners speak their native language at home and english in the classroom therefore, it is
difficult for pakistani learners to show much competence in english language.

3) Lack of interest :

Lack of interest is also a big reason for this prevailing gap between learners input and output. As
english is not our native language therefore, in pakistan learners do not show much interest in
learning english language.

4) Lack of available resources:


In pakistan english language learners do not have much resources to spend on the english
language learning . This is also a big reason for this prevailing gap between learners input and
output.
