I am studying Eng506, World Englishes, and I‘ve been observing into how English-
medium education in Pakistan moves how people see language and how it inspirations moving
up in society. When colleges use English to teach, it changes how we view languages and how
society moves advancing. On one side, knowing English can help you get better jobs and higher
positions. But it also makes a separation between those who are good at English and those who
aren’t.
This influence on language arrogances in Pakistan is clear when you think about how people
see those who speak English well. It can make a separation in society, where English speakers
are seen as more educated or fancy. This departure can affect how people cooperate, what jobs
they can get, and how well everybody gets along. Even though knowing English can open up
global chances, it can also make it harder for those who don’t have access to good English
education.
When it comes to moving up in society, learning in English is a big factor. Being good at
English can give you probabilities to work in other countries, in big businesses, and in
universities abroad. But this also makes a separation based on language, where people who don’t
speak English well might find it harder to get good jobs. So, while learning in English can help
some people move up, it can also keep others from having the same chances.
Now, let’s talk about how English and other languages work composed in Pakistani schools.
