Thank you for registering for Backcountry 101: Introduction to Avalanches ––

We are excited about our upcoming course and look forward to meeting you all. Give yourselves a pat
on the back for taking the initiative to increase your avalanche education. It is a life-long pursuit and
this is just one step in the process.

On your UAC BC101 Student Portal, you will find the necessary information and resources to help
prepare you for the course. There are roughly 2 hours of pre-course materials to help introduce and
refresh topics that will be covered during the course. Please take the time to dive into the student
portal resources, and go through the resources at your own pace. The time you spend preparing will
help ensure you get the most out of the course and have a successful experience.

Here’s a checklist to help guide you through important steps to get you ready for your course!

2. Familiarize yourself with the resources found on the UAC Student Portal here
3. Please complete our course waiver at www.uacwaiver.com
4. Begin checking your Utah Avalanche Center Forecast page daily
5. Reach out with any questions or concerns to education@utahavalanchecenter.org

Accessing the Online Pre-Course Modules for your Course

1. Go to https://utahavalanchecenter.unhosting.site/

Log in to your account or create a new account by selecting Create new account.
a. If you are creating a new account- be sure to check your email to complete setting up
your account.
2. After logging in to your account, Scroll down to view the list of Available courses and click on the
course that you have paid for.

3. You will be asked for the enrollment key. Your enrollment key is: bc101-Hyd57C
Enter your enrollment key to begin the course.

4. Once you access the Backcountry 101 Module the Avalanche Rescue Module will become available.
