Dear AIU Student:

Congratulations for taking an important step towards your professional and academic future.

Please consider the following recommendations in order to reach your academic goals:

1. Ideally, AIU expects you to read the entire Student Handbook which can be found in
the Online Library under the Student Resources option. You can also access this
Handbook in your Student Section under the option “Document Management, Phase I”.

2. Please maintain your current Personal Information updated in the appropriate section
of your Student Section. If you have moved, please update this section with your new
address, phone number, etc.

3. At AIU, your academic progress is our first priority. You will have the right to determine
the pace of your academic program. However, AIU recommends that you maintain a
minimum average of one completed assignment per month so you can finish your
program in less than 24 months.

4. Periodically, the Academic Department will send you interesting articles and request
that you compose an analytical essay with your opinions, comments and research.
These are optional assignments. However, as an incentive, the Academic Department
will reward extraordinary essays with credits or as an improvement to one of your
previous grades.

5. Please correspond with AIU via the Student Section of the electronic platform. Meaning,
all communications between the student and AIU must be done through your Student
Section. Please use the option “Communications/Assignments” on your Menu.

6. Please read all the examples and documents found in your Student Section under
“Document Management, Phase 1 Documents”. Included are formats and examples
of the academic assignments needed to complete this phase. This area also includes a
variety of useful instructions, such as how to submit assignments via the Student
Section.

7. At AIU you will design your own curriculum. We recommend you to be creative and
original in this process. Keep in mind that, as an AIU student, you have access to a
virtual library which includes millions of bibliographical references and complete-text
resources. Use them to your advantage and create the curriculum that will help you in
your life.

8. The university assumes you will have access to the following software: Microsoft Word,
Excel, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe Acrobat Reader can be
downloaded for free. Please go to:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
9. We encourage you to make your monthly tuition payments via credit card. This is the
best, most convenient and inexpensive payment method since there are no extra fees.
Please inform us of any changes you would like to make in reference to your credit card
or other payment method. You can modify and update the credit card information in
your electronic student section at any time.

10. Please be advised that all payment receipts must be uploaded through your student
section. Follow the instructions provided in the link below for a step by step process in
order to ensure that your receipt has been uploaded properly. Tutorial to upload
payment receipts in the student sections

11. If you are ever unable to meet your financial agreement with AIU, please communicate
openly with the Finance Department so that we may best accommodate your needs and
circumstances. Please note, there is a $20.00 late fee for any tuition payment not
received on time. Please help us protect your access to the Student Section and
current student standing, both of which may be temporarily disabled if the payment
schedule is not met.

12. At AIU, your Personal Information is strictly confidential and is not available to people
outside of AIU. This is to warn you of potential websites, companies, or individuals who
may attempt to contact you via e-mail or social media claiming to have some
relationship with Atlantic International University or offering to help you academically.

Any institution or individual who has a relationship with the university, will be listed on
the "Representations of AIU" page (http://www.aiu.edu/Representations.html) or the
Faculty and Staff page (http://www.aiu.edu/FacultyStaff.html). Should you be contacted
by any company or individual that you suspect is not a member of AIU, please inform
Student Services right away and be careful not to give out any information about
yourself over the phone or via e-mail.

13. In order to maximize your learning, we recommend you take a look at the Student
Resources page that offers tools for learning. Simply click Student Resources at the top
of your Student Section. You can also visit MY AIU, the live chat option, or MYAIU TV
and MYAIU Radio. We hope those resources allow you to maximize your potential.

Once again, we congratulate you for initiating a program of study at AIU. AIU Academic
Advisors and administrative staff are eager to assist you in carrying out an optimally rewarding
educational experience. Please do not hesitate to inform the Student Services Department
how we may be of support to you.

Best regards,

Admissions Department
