When a student attempts to register in a course section that is full, there may be the option to
waitlist. Once a seat becomes available that has been allocated to your student group, the
student in position 0 on the waitlist is offered the seat and has 24 hours to register themselves.

3. Where is the Langara Bookstore located and how can I order my books?
Langara bookstore is in C building on the main campus. You can purchase your books in the
store, or order online to save time. In order to find which books to order, follow the steps
below:
Log in to your Student Information System, go to your Course Schedule, and click on the "Find
My Textbooks Tool".
Shop online or come in-store to purchase your materials. For more details on purchasing
textbooks or digital textbooks, click here.
4. How can I find work on Langara Campus?
Langara has many opportunities for students to gain valuable work experience. Go to the
Student Work Programs page for more information.
Co-op & Career Development Centre offers career workshops, resume writing labs, in-class
employment course, co-op opportunities, interview practice, career resources, and more all
semester long. Go to the Career Services and Workshop Schedule page for more information.
5. How can I find volunteering opportunities at Langara?
Langara is a diverse campus and there are lot of volunteering opportunities available for

6. Does Langara have student clubs? How can I find out about them?

7. Where can I get information regarding Health and Dental Insurance Plans?

8. What is U-pass and how do I get one?
U-Pass BC is a student transit program delivered in partnership by the Langara Student’s Union,
TransLink, and the Ministry of Transportation. Eligible students will have access to a three-zone
pass valid for unlimited use on TransLink bus, SkyTrain, and Seabus services at an affordable
rate, which is automatically added to fees upon registration. As part of program conditions,
participation is mandatory for all students who qualify.
Compass Card: To begin using U-Pass BC, you will need to obtain a Compass Card if you do not
already have one. Compass Cards can be purchased at any Sky train vending machines and
select London Drug Stores. Please visit the following link to learn more:

Once you have your card, you can log into the U-Pass BC website to activate your pass. When
loading is complete, you will be able to tap in and tap out of transit with your Compass Card for
travel in that month. On or after the 16th of every month, simply go back onto the website and
request activation for the following month.
