Summary

This research paper tells the story of a dance that made an era because it
was a party for homosexuals in which Porfirio Díaz's son-in-law was
involved: Ignacio de la Torre y Mier. In addition to the devastating account
of the press, this paper analyzes what was thought and what was known
about homosexuality during the Porfiriato.

Keywords: homosexuality, disease, madhouse, taboo, forty-one,
