Đề bài: Some students prefer to take a gap year between high school and university,

to work or to travel. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

In this day and age, more and more contemporary attention has been placed on the

phenomenon that students decide to find employment or travel while taking a gap year

between high school and tertiary education. While I agree that this idea may be

advantageous in some aspects, I believe that the disadvantages still exist.

On the one hand, a gap year is an ideal chance for students to learn about what is not

taught at university. To be more specific, working with older people who are experts in

particular fields can give these newcomers practical lessons which are valuable that no

schools can provide for students. Moreover, in terms of recreation, having a year to relax

can be seen as an opportunity for students to relieve stress from their long-term study.

Therefore, those students might acquire knowledge more effectively with a comfortable

and willing attitude compared to those who enter universities right away.

On the other hand, delaying university study could make students receive more pressure

of catching up with their peers. In fact, they take one year to enjoy their experiences in

doing a job or traveling to a new place while their friends are still studying; then, they

have to take time to become familiar with knowledge at school again when they go back

to university. Furthermore, inexperienced school leavers may face challenging situations

in society. Specifically, they may be at risk of being exploited in an exhausting job or face

In conclusion, as aforementioned about taking a gap year to get a job or travel, I believe

this idea has both benefits and drawbacks equally.
