Is Extracurricular Important for Students?

ISSUE

Extracurricular is activities that performed by students after their study hours


completed. The extracurricular can take the form of activities in the arts, sports,
personality development, and other activities that has positive purpose for students
themselves. Nowadays students have many different opinions about the benefit of
extracurricular POINT . There are some students who think extracurricular is very
important. But there are also some students who think that extracurricular isn’t too
important for them. PREVIEW

ARGUMENT FOR

Some students who think extracurricular is important said that by joining


extracurricular, they can use their free time beneficially POINT . They can get many
new experiences. Many kind of experiences. For example they can try to socializing
with many people. They will get many new friends. Not only classmates, but also
schoolmates. They can get many new skills that aren’t taught in the class. They can get
many achievements. And many other benefits. The point is they can use their free time
well. ELABORATION

ARGUMENT AGAINST

But, not only a few students said extracurricular isn’t too important for them.
They are having trouble to divide their time POINT . They said extracurricular is
wasting their rest time. After study for hours, they need to have a break time. Moreover,
if they have many homeworks to do and many examinations to pass. They will not have
any free time or even rest time. The other disadvantage of extracurricular is when they
have additional study hours which coincides with their extracurricular time. It makes
they confuse what is more important for them to choose. ELABORATION

RECOMMENDATION

Well, as a result of this controversy, many students are planning to join


academic extracurricular. Besides they can try to socializing with many people at school,
they will not miss the cumpulsory subject too. Whereas students who can divide their
time well, and have interest in the field of non-academic can join non-academic
extracurricular considering the positive purpose of extracurricular.
