Verse of the Gospel/Readings: Ephesians 4:22-24

Reflections:

Ephesians 4:22–24 states, "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put
off your old self, which is corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the
attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true
righteousness and holiness." This verse is part of Paul's letter to the Ephesian churches, in
which he instructs the believers on how to live a life that is pleasing to God. In this
particular passage, Paul is emphasizing the importance of renewing our minds and
putting on a new self.

This message has significant implications for our spiritual growth and development. It
reminds us that our former way of life was characterized by corruption and deceitful
desires, and that we must put off this old self if we want to live a life that is pleasing to
God. This requires a conscious effort to change our attitudes and beliefs and to adopt a
new way of thinking that is consistent with God's truth.

Lessons/Values Learned:

The idea of putting on a new self is also closely tied to the concept of transformation. By
renewing our minds and putting on a new self, we are essentially undergoing a spiritual
transformation. This involves a change in our beliefs, values, and behavior, as well as a
deeper connection to God. This transformation should be evident in all areas of our
lives, including our relationships, our work, and our service to others.

In conclusion, Ephesians 4:22–24 offers an important message about the need for
spiritual renewal and transformation. It reminds us that we must put off our old selves
and put on a new self that is created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
By renewing our minds and embracing a new way of thinking, we can experience a
profound transformation that will enable us to live a life that is pleasing to God.
