Design: Fit:
• Jogger style (Cuff), Yoga style (Straight) • Fitted waistband with elastic for stretch
• Shorts Option • Slightly looser fit in hips and thighs
• Midrise - Waistband sits below belly button • Looser fit starting towards the knee
• Great for yoga, running errrands, lounging • Loose fit below the knee

Fabric:
• Best for use with 4-way stretch fabric • If the vertical (up & down) stretch is 30%-

*I would suggest using the High Hip body measurement to pick a size.
*The Flat Pattern High Hip measurements are reduced (smaller) than the body size measurements because
the piece will stretch out to fit the body measurements for a more fitted look. The fabric chosen should stretch
about 40% or more both ways (stretch ruler on page 12). Feel free to go up or in between sizes if you’d like
more room. The Full hip is meant to fit just a bit looser. Feel free to make any adjustments you prefer.
MEASURING HELP:
Measure exact but not too tight.

WAIST- Measure around your natural waist.


(usually about 1” above the belly button)

HIGH HIP - Measure around just above your hip

Supplies

Main Ingredients: Sewing Tools:


2” [5cm] wide elastic Zigzag/stretch stitch Sewing machine or Serger
Stretch Knit Fabric (see yardage chart page 6) Thread
Knit fusible tape stabalizer for hem (optional) Pins or clips
Fabric marking pen or chalk
Scissors or Rotary cutter
Measuring ruler or tape
Twin Needle for hem (optional)
Quick Sew Rundown Yoga & Jogger:
*Detailed instructions with illustrations starting on page 8.
Sew Pockets D to side seams (RST) (Optional)
Sew Front A & Back B side seams (sewing around pockets) and Sew Inseams (RST)
Sew Crotch (RST)
Sew Elastic in a loop
Sew Waistband C side seams (RST- waistband should also be a loop)
Fold Waistband in half lengthwise (WST)
Insert elastic in the waistband fold (hold elastic in with pins or clips)
Sew Waistband to the pant top (RST- Sew straight stitch in side seam to keep elastic from twisting)

Hem Yoga & Shorts Style:


Iron knit fusible tape to wrong side of hem
Fold hem up 3/8in [1cm] (WST)
Sew the hem on the right side with zigzag, twin needle, or coverstitch

Hem Jogger Style:


Sew cuffs E in a loop E (RST)
Fold cuffs in half lengthwise and sew to hem *RST- Right Sides (of fabric) Together

Printing & Taping


Print: Yoga Style

• This pattern is layered and can be printed in only


the size you need by opening the file with Acro-
bat Reader (free download)
• Print at Actual Size 100%
• Do not scale. Do not fit to page.
(This will distort the pattern measurements.)
• Print on A4 or US letter paper
• Each style pattern pages are in their own file in
the download package
• Print shop version available also in its own file in
the download package

First, print the Test Square only page 1 before


printing all of the pattern pages.

Measure the test square to make sure


your printer settings are 100% not scaled

Print the rest of your pattern

Tape:

Cut the right sides and bottom of each Jogger Style


pattern page along the border line

Tape the pages by number as shown in the


diagram.
(Use the grey diamonds to help match edges)

*Measure out the elastic to match the flat pattern high hip measurement of your chosen size
(XS,S, M, etc.) See guide above, Don’t cut yet, though! Be sure to add a little extra for seam
allowance to overlap the ends and sew.
*Elastic should be one long continuos piece and should be the same length as the total
circumference of the front and back waistband without the seam allowance.
*Use 2in [~5cm] wide elastic for the waistband or if you alter the waistband to a different width
then choose the appropriate elastic width to match your changes.

*Lay and cut the pattern pieces with the most stretch going horizontally across the body.
*I suggest prewashing your fabric before cutting to preshrink.
*This is a suggested layout for 60” [150cm] wide fabric. You’re welcome to layout anyway that works for you.

Sewing

Step 3 - Sew Crotch Step 6 - Insert Elastic & Fold Waistband

Step 7 - Attach Waistband

Sew each side seam Turn the waistband up and lightly press seam

Hem Jogger Style
