Fabric:
• Best for use with 4-way stretch fabric • If the vertical (up & down) stretch is 30%-
with at least 40% or more stretch in both 39% but the horizontal stretch is fine, then

*I would suggest using the High Hip body measurement to pick a size.
*The Flat Pattern High Hip measurements are reduced (smaller) than the body size measurements because
the piece will stretch out to fit the body measurements for a more fitted look. The fabric chosen should stretch
about 40% or more both ways (stretch ruler on page 12). Feel free to go up or in between sizes if you’d like
more room. The Full hip is meant to fit just a bit looser. Feel free to make any adjustments you prefer.

Elastic
*Measure out the elastic to match the flat pattern high hip measurement of your chosen size
(XS,S, M, etc.) See guide above, Don’t cut yet, though! Be sure to add a little extra for seam
allowance to overlap the ends and sew.
*Elastic should be one long continuos piece and should be the same length as the total
circumference of the front and back waistband without the seam allowance.
*Use 2in [~5cm] wide elastic for the waistband or if you alter the waistband to a different width
then choose the appropriate elastic width to match your changes.
