Choosing an engineering degree program is a life-changing decision.

It is a stepping
stone in order for me to achieve my dream of becoming a licensed professional
someday.

There are three reasons why I have chosen geodetic engineering as my primary choice.
First, it is a pre-law program. When I read its curriculum, I was fascinated by the fact
that studying “Introduction to Public and Private Lands”, “Obligation and Contracts”,
and “Land Registration Laws” will enhance my reasoning, critical thinking, and writing
skills that are significant to my future dream job as attorney-engineer . With this, I can
render legal advice to my family regarding land disputes. Second, I am interested in
mapping and higher mathematics. Some people have the misunderstanding that
geodetic engineering is only focused on surveying, but little did they know that it is also
into mapping that is essential for field research and visualization of global phenomena.
Learning challenging concepts of mathematics would really help me as well to elevate
my analytical and problem solving capabilities - equipping myself after graduation.
Lastly, I would like to make my own surveying firm as head surveyor because it is very
in-demand to the locality. I am also able to generate employment in the community.
Before that, I want to become a surveying aide to experience operating instruments and
understand its basics.

Geodetic Engineering is a diverse field of study that caters different job opportunities.
