Fifa Analysis
Fifa Analysis
First step was conducting a bivariate analysis on all the independent variables, to determine correlation
between the independent variables and the dependent one. To gauge whether the relationship that we
have drawn between the dependent and independent variables is significant or not.
As per bivariate analysis, following independent variables have a significant relationship with the Y
variable:
Qd = Intercept + D0 (forward) + D1 (MF) + D2 (Defender) + Starting Price + Final Price + Pace + Dribbling
Best Model:
This explains that 75% of variation in the quantity demanded of a player in an hour is explained by the
above mentioned independent variables.
The model above suggests that there is a significant relationship between a player’s quantity demanded
in a given hour (dependent variable) with the player’s pace points as well as the starting and final prices
of the player in that given hour. Following can be inferred from this model:
1. 1% increase in a player’s starting price shall have a 5.7% increase in the quantity demanded of
the player.
2. 1% increase in a player’s final price shall have a 5.8% decrease in the quantity demanded of the
player.
3. 1% increase in a player’s pace score shall have a 2.8% decrease in the quantity demanded of the
player.
4. In comparison to the forward position, the relationship of defender position with the quantity
demanded of the player, is insignificant.
5. The quantity demanded of a midfielder is 0.6 times less than the quantity demanded of a
forward player.
Therefore,
Qd = Intercept + D0 (forward) + D1 (MF) + D2 (Defender) + Starting Price + Final Price + Pace + Dribbling
Qd = 17.3 + D0 (Forward) – 0.66 MF + 0.16 (Defender) + 5.69 Starting Price – 5.87 (Final Price) – 2.81
Pace + 0.43 Dribbling
