Barbecue sauce is a sweet and tangy sauce that is used to flavor grilled or smoked

meats. There are many variations of barbecue sauce depending on the region,
ingredients and preferences.
Here is a simple recipe for a basic barbecue sauce12:

• In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, whisk together 1 cup of ketchup, 1/4
cup of light brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of white wine vinegar, 2 tablespoons of
Worcestershire sauce and 1/4 teaspoon of paprika.
• Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer, stirring
occasionally, until thickened, about 15 minutes.
• Let the sauce cool slightly before using it or storing it in an airtight container in
the refrigerator for up to a week.

You can customize this barbecue sauce by adding other ingredients such as garlic
powder, onion powder, mustard powder, hot pepper sauce or liquid smoke. You can also
adjust the sweetness, tanginess or spiciness to your taste.
