Siemens contactors are designed to have an extensive mechanical service life
(up to 10 million cycles, depending on the type). In comparison the electrical
contact service life depends on various factors; type of application to be
switched, utilization category (e. g. AC-1, AC-3, AC-4, ...), rated operational
voltage and the peak current output play a decisive role. When the contactor
has reached the end of its electrical life, the entire contactor does not
necessarily have to be replaced, Siemens contactors gives you the possibility to
replace the fixed and moveable contacts (see table) by further extending the life of the contactor. It is
recommended to replace the arc chamber after exchanging the main contacts 3-4 times.
