CONCEPT
Stingrays are an instantly recognizable fish,
with their pancake-like bodies that glide gracefully
through the water. Like its shark relations,
stingrays breathe with the help of gills. With this
information, it served as the main concept and
inspiration of the model. The flexibilty of a stingray
inspired the curves of the model. Like also the gills
of a stingray, the model has also various of
openings which allows natural ventilation and
lighting to the model.

THE CONCEPT CONCEPTS
Stingrays belong to a class of animals called
elasmobranchs, which are characterized by their
boneless skeletons made of cartilage — the same
semi-flexible protein that gives shape to human
ears. This characteristic influenced the designer to
use a bristol board bacause of its feature that is
easily bend yet is still sturdy. Only one piece of
bristol board was used and minimal deduction of
pieces was done to maintain more continuity of
the material and lessen the waste. As a base of the
model, one illustration board (1/4) was also used.

PROJECTS RELATED TO
YOUR SUBJECT
Due to the concept's size, scale, and opportunities,
its design is appropriate for large structures and
wide projects. The projects that can be related to
the subject are museums, gymnasium, hotel,
resorts, sports centers, or even a large residential
house. One of the example of already made project
of the same concept is the stingray shaped house
in Arizona.

"PAGI"
"Pagi", a filipino term for stingray which is the design concept of this model. The concept influenced
the design for its form, details, and considerations. Like a stingray, the model is in a rhombus form,
curvy, flat-like structure, and has a proper ventilation where air can easily pass through.
