My Summary of Gaudium Et Spes (Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the
Modern World)

Part 1, The Dignity of the Human Person, according to the almost unanimous opinion of
believers and unbelievers alike, all things on earth should be related to man as their center and
crown. The result is doubt and anxiety. The Church certainly understands these problems. The
Community of Mankind is one of the salient features of the modern world is the growing
interdependence of men one on the other, a development promoted chiefly by modern technical
advances.. Man’s Activity Throughout the World, through his labors and his native endowments
man has ceaselessly striven to better his life. Today, however, especially with the help of science
and technology, he has extended his mastery over nearly the whole of nature and continues to do
so. The Role of the Church in the Modern World, in this chapter, presupposing everything which
has already been said by this council concerning the mystery of the Church, we must now
consider this same Church in as much as she exists in the world, living and acting with it.

Part 2, Fostering the Nobility of Marriage and the Family in this chapter, as living
members of the family, children contribute in their own way to making their parents holy. For
they will respond to the kindness of their parents with sentiments of gratitude, with love and
trust. The Proper Development of Culture, man comes to a true and full humanity only through
culture, that is through the cultivation of the goods and values of nature. Wherever human life is
involved, therefore, nature and culture are quite intimately connected one with the other.
Economic and Social Life, in the economic and social realms, the dignity and complete vocation
of the human person and the welfare of society as a whole are to be respected and promoted. The
Life of The Political Community, in our day, profound changes are apparent also in the structure
and institutions of peoples. These result from their cultural, economic and social evolution. Such
changes have a great influence on the life of the political community, especially regarding the
rights and duties of all in the exercise of civil freedom and in the attainment of the common
good. The Fostering of Peace and the Promotion of a Community of Nations, the whole human
family faces an hour of supreme crisis in its advance toward maturity. Moving gradually together
and everywhere more conscious already of its unity, this family cannot accomplish its task of
constructing for all men everywhere a world more genuinely human unless each person devotes
himself to the cause of peace with renewed vigor.
My Reflection of Gaudium Et Spes (Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern
World)

My reflection on part 1, Gaudium Et Spes is about the dignity of every person, regardless
of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, or ability. No human being's freedom or dignity
should be violated. Living a life worthy of this dignity is impossible in the face of hunger,
poverty, and other forms of injustice. God, who cares for everyone with a fatherly concern,
reminding us that all men should form one family and behave toward one another in a loving
manner. The first commandment is to love God and your neighbor. Sacred Scripture, however,
reminds us that the love of God cannot be removed from love of neighbor. The Church is more
than just a venue where Christians gather for Sunday services. Churches attempt to live upon
gospel message through their words and deeds. On part 2 I realized that the intimate partnership
of married life and love has been established by God and qualified by His laws, and is rooted in
someone willingly personal consent.

Genuine married love is caught up into divine love and is governed by Christ’s
redeeming power and the holy activity of the Church. By strengthening traditions and
organizations, makes social life in the family and the larger community more humane. Has
significant spiritual experiences and desires that he expresses, shares, and preserves through
works over time in the hopes that they would benefit others as well. Recognizing the crucial role
of government as the meaning of arranging society, even though our commitment to God comes
first before our allegiance to any state. We are aware that we are obligated to God for social and
political life. Peace on earth brought by neighborly love and results peace that send out from God
the Father. Jesus Christ made all things right with God by dying on the cross. Then, after being
raised to the highest point through resurrection, released the spirit of love into all people's hearts.
Therefore, I conclude, realizing throughout the topic is to aim to communicate with all individual
so that the Church, whose duty it is to study the evidence of the era and understand them in the
perspective of the Gospel, that can help to resolve current issues in our community
