First slide

Good afternoon everyone! We are the third group to present our chosen green architectural marvel
which is the Solaris building. My name is Justine Hernandez and I will be reporting together with ms
Arevalo, ms bolanos, ms elgario,ms sogueco, ms Enriquez, ms suelo, ms llarenas, ms madag, and ms
zayas.

Second slide

To start, let me first introduce you to solaris building

Solaris is a 15-storey office building located in the Fusionopolis hub in central Singapore’s one-north
business park specifically in Phase 2B, Fusionopolis, One North, Singapore which is an area dedicated to
research and development in technology, media, physical sciences & engineering industries.

Third Slide

The site where solaris is located was originally a military base, which meant that most of the original
ecological system had been destroyed. The architect’s response was to conserve what little greenery
there was by building on areas which would cause the least ecological damage, helping to improve the
site’s biodiversity. Solaris being one of the buildings constructed there, has been contributing to the
sustainability and environmental care of the site through providing a green architecture that allows
people to interact without the worry of the negative effects.

Elgario part

This amusing structure was able to incorporate green features including a green corridor with central
courtyards, a unique solar shaft that helps create a day lit all through out the various corners of the
building especially the office spaces because of its strategicalo location, and also a naturally ventilated
atrium with automated glass windows that is weather sensitive.

In conclusion, Solaris was able to attain the design consideration needed in green architecture. It has a
passive solar design that helped the building to have a natural ventilation and lighting upliofting the
condition of the site. Although there are still some downside such as the maintenance and costs, solaris
building is a big step for the development and innovation of architecture today
