VINCENT VAN GOGH

The debate over whether Vincent van Gogh is regarded as a Post Impressionist genius
or mentally deranged has only just begun. VanGogh was regarded as one of the most
mentally disturbed painters, ranking among Di Vinci, Rodin, Picasso, and many other well-
known artists. Many diverse facets of van Gogh's life raise doubts about his mental stability,
but few people truly understand what was "wrong" with him. Despite the fact that there are
many hypotheses, few of them seem substantial and have a clear explanation for the man's
odd conduct. I endeavoured to study every part of his personality and tried to decide which
perspective would allow me to investigate him enough. I concluded that the Learning
Perspective was the most appropriate. The lifetime of learnt behaviours acquired through
modelling and reinforcement make up the learning perspective. Van Gogh's amorous conduct
may be easily connected to this personality perspective using a variety of instances. Prior to
being able to comprehend personality peculiarities, we must rst comprehend his whole
existence. Vincent, who was named after his older still-born brother, shared a passion of art
and a tendency toward melancholy and depression with several members of his family. He
rst started drawing when he was 11 years old out of tremendous boredom and loneliness
when he was attending boarding school. Historians were astounded to see that someone so
young had produced such amazing works of art . Vincent's father, however, had to have him
taken out of school after only a few years of attending boarding school because of their
mounting nancial load. Vincent's uncle supported him later in life by helping him land a
position at a prestigious art gallery. He started out by selling several paintings and engravings
before being given control of the company's main of ce in Paris. He was promptly red as a
result of an unexcused absence from the job.  However, it is said that the only reason this
happened was because he was so overtaken by despair after falling in love with a woman

whose heart belonged to some other guy. He nally focused all of his efforts on religion as a
result of the convergence of all these toxic elements. Van Gogh invested all of his time and
energy in ministry for the following four years. He was with all of the ladies he was not
allowed to be with. Family members, women who were already set to wed another guy, and
even a prostitute were all included in this. Vincent was not at all modest when it came to
expressing his emotions, which made him feel much worse when he received a negative
response. This in turn made him paint more aggressively, which helped him become a better
painter.  One day Vincent rushed into a brothel and gave a piece of his ear to his beloved
prostitute Rachel. As a consequence, his brother Theo institutionalised him at Saint-Paul-de-
Mansole the very next day. Finally, after being released from institutionalisation, Vincent
continued to devote himself to his paintings until he passed away. Wheat Field With Crows
was the very last artwork on which Vincent ever worked. Vincent bought a revolver to
frighten the crows away away since they kept interrupting him and making it impossible for
him to nish his task. Even though it was an accident, he shot himself in the abdomen and
passed away in Theo's arms over two days later. Complicated, imaginative, and impulsive,
Vincent van Gogh was a unique individual. He is motivated by his desires, and he will stop at
nothing to get them. He has spent his whole life trying to win the affection and favour of
everyone around him, understanding that the only way to achieve his goals is by going to
extreme lengths. The learning perspective is the theory that Vincent's entire life can be
effectively viewed through.
