The new era for the Pet industry: Animal care

The pet industry involves goods and services associated with domestic animals. This

industry is broad as it includes veterinary pharmaceuticals, health examinations, food

manufacturers, among others. The chosen segment is dog care, such as walks, transportation,

sitter, and pet grooming. In addition, this segmentation is a fantastic opportunity to any

business because they could offer a variety of products and services in order to provide the

well-being for people's pets. One example of dog care is PetCloud created in Australia that

offers pet sitters for busy pet owners.

Data on pet care in Colombia states that there was an increase in sales because of the

humanization of pets (Passport database, 2022). In other words, despite the rapid increase in

prices caused by inflation, pet owners are more likely to spend more money on products and

services for the well-being of their pets. In international markets, the economic market for

pets has been gradually expanding profitability, and it will also be prone to more jobs and

consumption in the future. The trends that have been exposed lately by the different social

networks; it can be noticed that each time there is a slightly younger target audience.

In conclusion, the pet industry is big and covers many things, among which the main

segment is pet care. In Colombia, this industry is getting bigger, companies are taking

advantage of the love that pet owners must expand services such as pet care, walks,

hairdressing, etc. Additionally, it is a great opportunity to generate employment for people

who are willing to work and love animals. It is a very profitable idea to grow a business and

be the solution for some Colombian pet owners.
