PROJECT/BUDGET PROPOSAL

I. TITLE : 1ST BATCH DISTRIBUTION OF ANDROID TABLET WITH


SIM AND LOAD SUBSIDY GOOD FOR 1 MONTH AND
HYGIENE KIT FOR THE SELECTED POOREST OF THE
POOR COLLEGE STUDENTS WITH NO FAILING GRADES
OF CITY OF MALABON UNIVERSITY

II. RATIONALE:

Gadgets play a vital role in the educational field in order to


improve the skills and knowledge of the students. It is very important for
them since they need to improve their knowledge power to gain success in
the future. Today, in the era of COVID-19 pandemic, academe faced a new
mode of learning-distanced learning. However, not all new is always
accepted. Many student struggled in acquiring suitable gadgets that can
sustain online classes. The nationwide survey, conducted last November 21
to 25, found that 58 percent of enrolled Filipino students in the 5 to 20 age
bracket used devices for distance learning, which the government
implemented in Philippine schools due to the threat of COVID-19.

Around 27 percent of the students said they already owned the


gadgets before the start of distance learning classes, 12 percent said they
bought devices, 10 percent borrowed, while 9 percent said the gadgets were
given to them, according to the survey.in their needs of online learning. To
support this, SWS survey conducted a study that proves half of Filipino
students use gadgets as mode of learning. The nationwide survey, conducted
last November 21 to 25, found that 58 percent of enrolled Filipino students
in the 5 to 20 age bracket used devices for distance learning, which the
government implemented in Philippine schools due to the threat of COVID-
19.Around 27 percent of the students said they already owned the gadgets
before the start of distance learning classes, 12 percent said they bought
devices, 10 percent borrowed, while 9 percent said the gadgets were given to
them, according to the survey. An average of P8,687 was spent by families
who bought a device for distance learning.

Smartphone was a top gadget choice, at 79 percent. Around 13


percent said they got a laptop, 5 percent bought a television while 3 percent
got tablets. The use of devices is greatest in Metro Manila, with nearly all or
96 percent of students, based on the survey. Around 64 percent of students
in Balance Luzon use gadgets while 4 in 10 learners use devices in Visayas
and Mindanao. Some 4.4 million school-age Filipinos unenrolled as of late
2020: SWS.The survey also found that the use of devices is more common
among students in urban areas, at 64 percent, than among students in rural
areas (49 percent).Owning a device and buying a device for distance learning
is more common among families with household heads who have higher
educational attainment, according to the survey.

Moreover, the purpose and the great essence of Distribution of


Android Tablet with Sim and Load Subsidy and Hygiene Kit to the students
are for them to have assistance or abetment to continue their studies and at
the same time help them to be active in school during these nerve-racking
times. This project enable learners to turn their dreams into vivid reality and
make those impossible to tangible. In a nutshell, this project wanted also to
address those students who are dropping or stopping in school because of
the tough situation by means of providing and giving them gadgets or any
other educational resource assistance to trim down the word "left behind"
and ebb the number of learners that stops in learning, howsoever to
continue pushing themselves to imbibe learning.

III. OBJECTIVES:

Enabling:
This project aims to:

1. help the poorest of the poor college students;

2. provide necessary tools for synchronous and asynchronous


classes and

3. provide hygiene kits (facemask, faceshield, alcohol) to prevent


them from COVID-19 pandemic.

VIII. EXPECTED OUTPUT/OUTCOME:

Short-Term

- The distribution of the Hygiene Kit (Facemask, face shield,


Alcohol/Sanitizer) will also help the poorest of the poor students of City of
Malabon University to prevent Covid-19.

Long-Term

- The distribution of tablet and Sim card with load will


definitely help poorest of the poor students of City of Malabon University
with no reliable technology in pursuing their education.

IX. MONITORING AND EVALUATION SCHEME:

- Monitoring on the implementation of project particularly the


distribution of the gadgets and hygiene kit for the participants in
complete and good condition.

- Providing evaluation results to the project for plan adjustments,


future improvements and other concerns.
