This operation also includes required tools and times for applicable parts of the following operations:

 Damping cylinder, changing seals

1. Remove the nuts from the damping cylinder. Remove the connection that is in the way.

2. Remove the damping cylinder and check that the springs are intact.

3. Replace the damping cylinder seals. See Damping cylinder, changing seals.

4. Assemble the damping cylinder. Fill the space around the cup springs with grease.

5. Fit the nut.

6. Remove the nut again and check the measurement (pre-load) between the guide and the cylinder using a sliding
caliper.

7. If the measurement (pre-load) is off, change the thrust ring (4).

NOTE!
Thrust rings are available in different thicknesses:

from 7-11 mm (0.27-0.43 in) with 1 mm (0.04 in) interval

1. Fill space with grease

2. Cup springs
3. Piston with seal, lube with oil before installing
4. Thrust ring

8. Fit the nut to the cylinder.

9. Press the seals into place by pressurising the damping cylinder. See Damping cylinder, changing seals.
