Republic Act No.

6657 or the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law (expansion of PD 67)

- This law refers to the is the redistribution of private and public agricultural lands to help the
beneficiaries survive as small independent farmers, regardless of the tenurial arrangement.
- Section 6 of this law provides that a land owner may retain a portion not exceeding 5
hectares and shall have the right to choose the portion to be retained, which as far as
practicable, shall be compact and contiguous.

landowner, subject to the following qualifications: (1) that he is at least fifteen (15) years of
age; and (2) that he is actually tilling the land or directly managing the farm.
