To examine why the Philippines is top exporter of nurses internationally and the shortage
Nurses are medical professionals who work in hospitals and are responsible for caring for
patients who are seriously ill or injured. They guarantee that they receive individualized,
superior treatment. They are also engaged in preparing for predicted Covid 19 related
epidemics, which could cause system overload by increasing demand for nursing and

Philippines.
Despite the need for equitable compensation and benefits for Filipino nurses, the
Philippine government responded by prohibiting and restricting their ability to work abroad.
This deployment ban was hotly contested because of its potential unconstitutionality,
infringement of the ability to travel and earn a living wage, and negative effects on the
Philippine economy. The DOH called on those Filipino nurses who had open plantilla jobs
so they can hire them and they could fill in the facilities all over the country, both public
