An opening prayer was offered at the beginning of the program. Ms. Jana Angelica
Bautista, who is the secretary of the organization, conducted the prayer. Followed by the opening
remarks given by Associate Dean Jelwin Bautista of the College of Business and Accountancy.
The first guest speaker, Mr. Mark Gulle, began his presentation by presenting JCFAP,
which stands for the Junior Confederation of Finance Associations. JCFAP is a national
organization that serves as an umbrella for college student organizations that are focused on
finance or financial management which was founded in June 2006.
Following the discussion of the advantages of JCFAP, Mr. Mark Gulle moved on to a
discussion of wealth management, which is a subset of investment advising that integrates its
services with those of other financial services in order to meet the specific needs of wealthy clients.
If you want to live the life you want now and in the future, you need to develop good
saving, budgeting, and spending habits. If you don't have a solid foundation, it will be difficult to
meet your financial and even your personal obligations.
A.) Investments
B.) Emergency Fund
C.) Eliminate Debts
D.) Protection
E.) Healthcare

An icebreaker was done after Mr. Gulle’s talk wherein the Financial Management students
guessed 10 gibberish words. The first one to guess the right word won 50 pesos GCASH or load.
After this, the second guest speaker- Ms. Ailyn Capati was introduced. Ms. Capati is a Senior
Assistant Vice President at the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) and is the head of its
Cabanatuan City branch.
Ms. Capati talked about ”Diversity and Growth: Lessons on Managing a Successful
Portfolio”. Before she started discussing her topic, she, like Mr. Gulle, asked us what we will do
if we have 1,000,000 Pesos. Will we use it to buy real estate, or stock, invest in a retail treasury
bond, or deposit in a bank? Most FM Students answered that they will use the money to invest or
buy stocks while some answered that they will use it to buy or invest in real estate.
Ms. Capati discussed that “Portfolio Management” is the art and science of overseeing a
group of investments that will meet the client’s financial objectives and risk tolerance in the long
run. She also discussed the different types of investments like bank deposits, retail treasury, real
estate, etc. She also gave tips on how we, as students can successfully manage a portfolio, and also
what we should do or study with regards to predicting trends in the stock market.

The Junior Financial Executives along with the different College of Business and
Accountancy local organizations held a gift-giving project to the different adopted barangays of
the College in Cabanatuan City. JFINEX was tasked to go to Kalikid Norte and hold a program
there.
Numerous kids and adults alike went to participate in the gift-giving project. The program
started with an opening prayer, followed by an opening remark, the games for the kids and adults
of course, with prizes for the winners. All of us had a great time talking and laughing with each
other and also sharing our blessings with those in need was very heartwarming. Their smiles as
they receive the gifts or donations we had prepared for them was more than enough to fill our
hearts and be thankful that we were given an opportunity to help them.
