LEADERS CODE OF CONDUCT

ABOUT THE CODE OF CODUCT


This document will serve as a formal code of conduct mainly for every leader ,
worker and any one aspiring to lead in the church. We have taken time to
carefully structure it on the solidity of God’s Word. The reader is expected to
go through each line slowly in order to understand what every sentence
means.

Note that no one is above the structure and we are all to adhere to them for
the well-functioning of the work of God. Non-compliance to the code will have
consequences. Nonetheless , we believe God for grace to follow the code as
required of us.

At the end of the document is a section left for signature , this is a proof that
you have read also this to show your desire to commit to the structure within
the church.

Code of conduct of Zion

1. PUNCTUALITY

❖ Every worker , leader is expected to respect time for weekly services , Sunday services as well as
special meetings.
❖ In the case of unforeseen circumstances , it’s one’s responsibility to notify of your delay on time
to the leadership ( via call , or message , WhatsApp )

2. RESPECT :

❖ Every leader must show firstly respect towards the Pastor who is the main Leader and Sheperd
over the work. Respect towards fellow leaders as well. No disrespect in words , attitude will be
tolerated.
❖ Formal language is very advisable between leaders. The pastor as well as other members. The
use of “Sir , Miss , Mrs , Mr “ is preferable between leaders and workers.

3. THE OPPOSITE SEX :

❖ The church doesn’t forbid casual contact between males and females. However No
inappropriate contact. Clear boundaries must be respected.
❖ in the case of visit , no male leader will visit a female alone , preferably accompanied by another
leader same is applicable for ladies who are leaders.

4. TRANSPARENCY AND REPORT :

❖ Reports from every department will be given to the church administration on a constant basis.

5. ACCOUNTABILITY :

❖ The church acknowledges the gifts and callings bestowed upon each leader. However Every
leader will have to be accountable in the event that you are invited to minister somewhere.

6. CONFLICT MANAGEMENT / RESOLUTION :

❖ Conflicts between leaders are not encouraged. However in the case of misunderstanding. It’s
expected for the leaders involved to find a solution speedily. Make apologies if needed. Conflict
may arise but they can be fixed.
❖ If it cannot be fixed between the two parties , the persons involved will have to take it to the
Pastor.
❖ Gossips , tale-bearing is not allowed from any leader as it doesn’t reflect the culture of the
Kingdom and of Zion.
❖ No misunderstanding should be seen as fatal. Resolution is always preferred.

7. COMMITMENT AND ABSENTEEISM :


❖ At Zion we place EXTREMELY HIGH VALUE on attendance especially to TEACHINGS AND
PRAYERS. A leader is expected to NOT miss any of those.
❖ When/If a leader , worker misses a teaching. It’s your responsibility to catch up. Get the recoding
/ notes to be up to date
❖ IF / when unable to attend meetings , services due to unforeseen circumstances a message
must be sent to miss Julia or the church number. Notification MUST be given preferably 24h
before earlier.
❖ After Repetitive absenteeism , you will be requited send an email to the church and apologies
before resuming with your respective functions.

8. GUEST MINISTER :

❖ Keeping close relationships with visiting / guest ministers is not ethical therefore unacceptable.
The Pastor is the only one allowed to maintain relationships with Guest speakers before , during
or after their ministrations.
❖ You are encouraged to continue honor their ministry but not attempting to build connections
after their departure

10. CONDIFENTIALITY :

❖ Unless stated otherwise Leaders , workers must not divulgate information that are to be kept for
the leadership alone.
❖ Discretion is an important trait

11. HANDLING OF FAULTS/ MISHAPPS :

❖ Workers are not allowed to judge or condemn anyone for their sins , weakens, and way of doing
things, if it's happens you'll be suspended. The pastor has the responsibility to do so.

12. RELATIONSHIPS ( Courtship ) :

❖ Relationships of the romantic nature needs to be keep clean and pure.


❖ The Church will respect relationships and will not interfere however No relationship will be
regarded as official in the church until they are official by the parents according to respective
families and procedure. ( lobola , marriage etc )
❖ The duty of the church is to provide advice , and proper guidance for prospective couples. The
pastor remains open for anyone needing counsel.

13. DRESS CODE AND PRESENTATION :

❖ Every leader is expected to dress accordingly


❖ No too revealing or suggestive clothes
❖ Males and females are to dress properly so not to cause anyone to stumble

14. CONTACT WITH THE PASTOR : The Pastor’s number is not to be shared without permission.

15. BIBLE AND CHRIST-CENTERDNESS : Everything that we present in the church must be Bible and
Christ-centered.
16. SUSPENSIONS :
❖ In extreme cases , disciplinary actions such as suspensions will be given to leaders who willingly
despite multiple warnings , breach the church conducts.
❖ After 2/3 warning suspension can take place for discipline and the respect of the Church
❖ The purpose of it is not to humiliate but to correct. Upon permission , the leader MAY resume.

17. REWARDS : At the end of every 3 month rewards will be given to consistent workers.
