‘’CREATIVE TOURISM and HOSPITALITY:


HARNESSING CULTURAL HERITAGE in the INDUSTRY’’

The event is all about of their own experience as an HTM and their achievements. Ms.
Michelle said that Cultural Heritage is a significant component of any tourist Destination.
Then tourism only looking for a Traditional Tourism sight but now they also looking for the
Cultural Heritage sights to find out different types of cultural heritage this was said by the
first lady in the live video. I also learned that Cultural tourism based on McKercher and Du
Cros ‘’Tourism is relying on the cultural heritage assets of their destination and transforming
them into products that can be consume by the tourists.’’ ‘’The movement of person to
cultural attractions in cities in countries other than their normal place of residence, with
intention to gather new information and experiences to satisfy their cultural needs and all
movements of person sites, artistic and cultural manifestations, arts and drama to cities
outside their normal country of residence.’’ WTO. US National Endowment for the Arts states
that ‘’Travel directed toward experiencing the arts, heritage, and special character of a
place.’’ I’d also like to add that Baguio City is the first in the country to be named by the
UNESCO as one of the 64 worldwide creative cities in network. A lot of teenage now like to
travel, to gather experience new things, to make new memories with their love ones, friends
and family, but few wants to learn others culture or tradition. As a teenager who apply to
study a Hotel Management, I want to travel the world, not only to have experience and make
memories but also to explore and learn things. I’d would like to learn how they cook their
food, what is their traditional food and a lot of things about foods. Yes, when traveling I only
think about foods, I want to try lots of food and wondering how they cooked, how they
seasoned and what is the history of that said food. The event was most likely all about
tourism and plenty about Restaurant Management. So I would like my reaction to be about
Restaurant Management. I won’t only talk about food I also want to know a lot of things like
what is the popular food they cook in an occasion like Christmas, Thanks Giving and
Birthdays. I am full of question about food so I maybe will get an answer of this 5 years from
now.
